[Termes IGN] TOPEXRésumé : (Auteur) It is verified that the radial orbit errors estimated for the nominal TOPEX orbit are significantly reduced when the full variance-covariance matrix of GEM-L2 is propagated into the orbit instead of the variances of the GEM-L2 coefficients only. This is a fortunate but expected result for GEM-L2 at the TOPEX inclination. It is shown that the radial errors for TOPEX, using GRIM-3M1P variance-covariance matrix, or for ERS-1 with GEM-L2 or GRIM-3M1P are of a different nature with the ERS-1 inclination region nearly unsampled by the model's data; there is a small improvement only. Numerical results for ERS-1 and TOPEX orbits, obtained with GEM-L2 and GRIM-3M1P, are presented and discussed in a detail.
