[Termes IGN] zone urbaineRésumé : (auteur) A novel generalized pattern search (GPS)-based cellular automata (GPS-CA) model was developed to simulate urban land-use change in a GIS environment. The model is built on a fitness function that computes the difference between the observed results produced from remote-sensing images and the simulated results produced by a general CA model. GPS optimization incorporating genetic algorithms (GAs) searches for the minimum difference, i.e. the smallest accumulated residuals, in fitting the CA transition rules. The CA coefficients captured by the GPS method have clear physical meanings that are closely associated with the dynamic mechanisms of land-use change. The GPS-CA model was applied to simulate urban land-use change in Kunshan City in the Yangtze River Delta from 2000 to 2015. The results show that the GPS method had a smaller root mean squared error (0.2821) than a logistic regression (LR) method (0.5256) in fitting the CA transition rules. The GPS-CA model thus outperformed the LR-CA model, with an overall accuracy improvement of 4.7%. As a result, the GPS-CA model should be a superior tool for modeling land-use change as well as predicting future scenarios in response to different conditions to support the sustainable urban development. [Termes IGN] teneur totale en électronsRésumé : (auteur) An alternative approach to the traditionally employed method is proposed for treating the ionospheric range errors in transionospheric propagation such as for GNSS positioning or satellite-borne SAR. It enables the effects due to horizontal gradients of electron density (as well as vertical gradients) in the ionosphere to be explicitly accounted for. By contrast with many previous treatments, where the expansion of the solution for the phase advance is represented as the series in the inverse frequency powers and the main term of the expansion corresponds to the true line-of-sight distance from the transmitter to the receiver, in the alternative technique the zero-order term is the rigorous solution for a spherically layered ionosphere with any given vertical electron density profile. The first-order term represents the effects due to the horizontal gradients of the electron density of the ionosphere, and the second-order correction appears to be negligibly small for any reasonable parameters of the path of propagation and its geometry for VHF/UHF frequencies. Additionally, an “effective” spherically symmetric model of the ionosphere has been introduced, which accounts for the major contribution of the horizontal gradients of the ionosphere and provides very high accuracy in calculations of the phase advance. [Termes IGN] variation temporelleRésumé : (auteur) As a first step towards studying the ionosphere with the global navigation satellite system (GNSS), leveling the phase to the code geometry-free observations on an arc-by-arc basis yields the ionospheric observables, interpreted as a combination of slant total electron content along with satellite and receiver differential code biases (DCB). The leveling errors in the ionospheric observables may arise during this procedure, which, according to previous studies by other researchers, are due to the combined effects of the code multipath and the intra-day variability in the receiver DCB. In this paper we further identify the short-term temporal variations of receiver differential phase biases (DPB) as another possible cause of leveling errors. Our investigation starts by the development of a method to epoch-wise estimate between-receiver DPB (BR-DPB) employing (inter-receiver) single-differenced, phase-only GNSS observations collected from a pair of receivers creating a zero or short baseline. The key issue for this method is to get rid of the possible discontinuities in the epoch-wise BR-DPB estimates, occurring when satellite assigned as pivot changes. Our numerical tests, carried out using Global Positioning System (GPS, US GNSS) and BeiDou Navigation Satellite System (BDS, Chinese GNSS) observations sampled every 30 s by a dedicatedly selected set of zero and short baselines, suggest two major findings. First, epoch-wise BR-DPB estimates can exhibit remarkable variability over a rather short period of time (e.g. 6 cm over 3 h), thus significant from a statistical point of view. Second, a dominant factor driving this variability is the changes of ambient temperature, instead of the un-modelled phase multipath. [Termes IGN] tomographie par GPSRésumé : (Auteur) Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) tomography provides 3-D reconstructions of atmosphere wet refractivity, related to water vapor. A simulated analysis of the integration of Global Positioning System and future Galileo data is presented. Atmospheric refractivity is derived from radiosonde data acquired over the Lisbon area. The impact of Galileo data on the tomographic reconstruction is assessed. Furthermore, horizontal anomalies are added to a reference vertical profile of atmospheric refractivity to reproduce low-level dry or wet air intrusions, a phenomenon commonly observed in meteorological data acquired by both radiosonde and satellites. The dependence of tomographic solution on the GNSS network density is also analyzed. Better reconstruction capabilities in the lower layers are observed when increasing the network density. [Termes IGN] validation des donnéesRésumé : (Auteur) Digital Elevation Models (DEMs) are an invaluable source of information in large area studies. Some of the DEMs such as Advanced Spaceborne Thermal Emission Radiometer-Global Digital Elevation Model (ASTER GDEM), shuttle radar topography mission (SRTM), and Global Multi-resolution Terrain Elevation Data 2010 (GMTED2010) are, freely available for the scientific community worldwide. Prior to any application, global datasets of DEMs should he evaluated using reference data of higher accuracy. Therefore, the main objective of this study is to assess the quality of the ASTER GDEM (version 2), SRTM (version 4) and systematic subsample GMTED2010 in Tunisia. The validation process, adopted here, is based on two main approaches: internai and external validations. The internai validation is achieved by petforming visual inspection of shaded relief images extracted from the three DEMs. At this level, results show that SRTM is essentially similar to ASTER GDEM2 in term of relief features representation. In the second alternative, the vertical accuracy of each DEM is evaluated using 60 Global Positioning System (GPS) validation points. The overall vertical accuracy shows RMSE error of 11.96 m, 8.65 m and 10.86 m for ASTER GDEM2, SRTM and GMTED2010 DEM respectively, in comparison with GPS elevation points.
