[Termes IGN] système d'information géographiqueRésumé : (Auteur) A digital elevation model (DEM), which is used to represent a terrain surface. is normally constructed by applying an interpolation method on given sample elevation points. Interpolation methods can be classified into two classes: linear methods, which have a low time cost and are suitable for terrains where there is little change in elevation, and non-linear methods, which normally consume comparatively more time and are more suitable for terrains where there are frequent changes in elevation. A hybrid interpolation method, which involves both a linear method and a non-linear method of interpolation, is proposed in this paper. The proposed method aims to integrate the advantages of both linear and non-linear interpolation methods for the refinement of regular grid DEM. Here, the bilinear is identified as the linear method, and the bi-cubic is taken to be the non-linear interpolation method. The hybrid method is an integration of a linear model and non-linear interpolation model with a parameter that defines the weights for each of the models. The parameter is dependent on the complexity of the terrain, for which a DEM is to be interpolated. The experimental results in this study demonstrate that the hybrid method is effective for interpolating DEMs for various types of terrain. [Termes IGN] modèle numérique de surfaceRésumé : (Auteur) The first aim of this paper is to show how the joint use of Digital Surface Models (Dsms) coming from different sources may improve the understanding of an urban environment. More specifically, we consider laser and radar three-dimensional data over the same urban area and show that they can be profitably combined to improve building extraction. We exploit the better vertical and horizontal accuracy of the laser DSM, assumed to be available only for a small area, to ease the deformation of Interferometric Synthetic Aperture Radar (INSAR) DSM with built structures. To achieve this, we propose a method based on subsequent steps of geometrical correction, and mainly on a simple "stretching step" that uses laser data as a reference to adjust INSAR-derived building footprints. We show quantitative results obtained from two different urban areas, using different laser and radar data sets, to assess advantages and drawbacks of the proposed method. [Termes IGN] reconstruction d'objetRésumé : (auteur) This paper addresses the multi-resolution implementation of a Cox&Roy optimal flow image matching algorithm. This minimization algorithm aims at solving the surface reconstruction problem formalized as a minimization of an energy. This multi-resolution approach is necessary for achieving reasonable processing times on extended areas and improving robustness by restraining matching ambiguities. Some very good results are shown on a 10m ground sample distance (GSD) SPOT5-HRS stereopair. Intermediate results at different steps of the reconstruction process show all the Level Of Details provided by the different pyramid scale levels. The tuning of the regularization parameter is also discussed for different landscapes.
