[Termes IGN] propagation d'erreurRésumé : (Auteur) The aim of our study was to characterize statistical and spatial details of the errors in a fine toposcale DEM derived by contour data. The fine toposcale DEMs are typically represented in a 5-50 m grid and used in the application scale 1:10000-1:50000. The errors were determined by using high-quality reference data covering the entire study area from an airborne laser scanner. The work was motivated because of the essential role played by the correct characterization of DEM error in error-propagation studies. The results showed that the spatial autocorrelation of the fine toposcale DEM error was the result of a complex combination of random and systematic-like components, and its appropriate modelling by geostatistical methods is problematic because of the small extent of the areas in which the assumption of stationarity is valid. In addition, describing the shape of the DEM error distribution was impossible with a single parameter of dispersion. This was due to a large number of outliers, which suggests that more robust descriptors of the error should be used in addition to conventional error statistics. [Termes IGN] température de surfaceRésumé : (Auteur) According to the reflectance spectra of various materials, this paper mainly studies the relations between inherent features indicated by different combinations of characteristic spectral bands and surface temperature for five land surface cover types in the Shanghai area. On the basis of above-analysis results, we used the built optimum regression models to retrieve surface temperature, and then the precision and feasibility of the correlation method were evaluated. Results show that a clear and high correlativity exists between characteristic spectral bands and surface temperature. The maximum error is about 2.0 K by using correlation models to estimate urban land surface temperature, and main error of retrieved temperature results from mistakenly classification and existent mixture pixels. This indicates that characteristic spectral bands can be used as a modulating parameter for the estimation of surface temperature. [Termes IGN] point d'appuiRésumé : (Auteur) This article examines the extraction of Digital Elevation Models (DEMs) from QuickBird stereo image pairs without the use of ground control points (GCPs). Due to the frequent unavailability of ground control points, a DEM generation method requiring no GCPs would be of significant interest to users of stereo data. The article also explores the refinement of extracted DEMs by applying horizontal shifts based on reference DEMs from the Shuttle Radar Topography Mission (SRTM). [Termes IGN] valeur propreRésumé : (Auteur) Video provides strong cues for automatic road extraction that are not available in static aerial images. In video from a static camera, or stabilized (or geo-referenced) aerial video data, motion patterns within a scene enable fonction attribution of scene regions. A "road," for example, may be defined as a path of consistent motion - a definition which is valid in a large and diverse set of environments. The spatio-temporal structure tensor field is an ideal representation of the image derivative distribution at each pixel because it can be updated in real time as video is acquired. An eigen-decomposition of the structure tensor encodes both the local scene motion and the variability in the motion. Additionally, the structure tensor field can be factored into motion components, allowing explicit determination of traffic patterns in intersections. Example results of a real time system are shown for an urban scene with both well-traveled and infrequently traveled roads, indicating that both can be discovered simultaneously. The method is ideal in urban traffic scenes, which are the most difficult to analyze using static imagery.
