[Termes IGN] résiduRésumé : (Auteur) Phase unwrapping is a key step in extracting digital elevation models (DEMs) from interferometric synthetic aperture radar (InSAR) data. A new two-dimensional (2-D) phase unwrapping algorithm based on ant colony optimization (ACO) is proposed, which is used to configure the shortest path linking all residues in an interferogram. Using an optimization strategy to establish the branch cuts, the unwrapping error can be significantly reduced. Simulated and real InSAR image datasets are studied to evaluate the performance of the algorithm. The results of the simulated datasets show that the errors of the algorithm are lower than some conventional methods, and the results from a real InSAR image dataset demonstrate that the ACO approach has no isolated regions in comparison with some conventional approaches. It indicates that our ACO algorithm is an optional compromise strategy between preferable phase unwrapping precision and time-consuming computation.Copyright Taylor & Francis Numéro de notice : A2008-006 Affiliation des auteurs : non IGN Thématique : IMAGERIE Nature : Article nature-HAL : ArtAvecCL-RevueIntern DOI : 10.1080/01431160701281049 En ligne : https://doi.org/10.1080/01431160701281049 Format de la ressource électronique : URL article Permalink : https://documentation.ensg.eu/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=29001

[Termes IGN] nivellement directRésumé : (Auteur) As rates of sea-level rise continue to increase due to climate change, land planners require accurate spatial analyses on the extent and timing of coastal flooding and associated hazards. Digital elevation data used to evaluate coastal vulnerability to flooding are available at various horizontal and vertical resolutions. However, the quality of digital elevation models (DEM) used in environmental assessment can significantly affect the detection of topographic features and the magnitude of hydrological processes. We used lidar elevation data in coastal North Carolina, USA to investigate the effects of horizontal resolution and connectivity on the extent and timing of flooding from sea-level rise. We found that the rate and extent of inundation were dependent on horizontal resolution and assumptions made on hydrological connectivity. The variation in flood extent was much larger (760 km2) at low sea-level projections (~0.9 m, 114 km2) due to the effect of hydrological corrections on the coarse-scale DEM and topographic complexity at low elevations. Lidar elevation data provide a significant advance in mapping potential coastal flooding, but the extent and timing of inundation are sensitive to horizontal resolution and the modelling of hydrological connectivity. [Termes IGN] système d'information géographiqueRésumé : (Auteur) WinBasin is a GIS-based watershed analysis system that can automatically calculate depressionless flow directions, delineate watersheds/sub-watersheds, extract realistic drainage networks, and calculate geomorphological indices and hydrological responses from digital elevation models. Several improved algorithms coupled with GIS techniques were proposed for automated watershed analysis. First, different from depression fill-up treatment methods, the depression watershed method coupled with the improved fuzzy c-mean algorithm allows the depression outlet location and flow directions to be determined. Second, by using the GIS-based point-and-click interface coupled with outlet-tracing and headwater-tracing algorithms, watersheds with user-specified outlets and realistic drainage networks can be easily extracted based on the derived flow directions. The analysed results can be exported to vector format for linkage with other GIS software. Third, the geomorphological indices and hydrological responses (width function and geomorphological instantaneous unit hydrograph) in a watershed can also be instantly derived based on the proposed algorithms and the GIS technique. [Termes IGN] site archéologiqueRésumé : (auteur) We are developing a vision-based system for photorealistic 3D modeling of previously unknown, complex and unstructured underground environments. Nowadays, laser range finders allow us to build 3D maps of the environment by taking multiple scans from different viewpoints. The scans are usually aligned via two post-processing steps: first, a coarse alignment is provided by an operator and second, a fine solution is computed via Iterative ClosestPoint algorithm. In this paper we describe an automatic on line scan matcher system which replaces the two post-processing steps of the existing methods. The scan matcher is powered by a pyramidal pairwise matching of 2D intensity panoramic views using a dense correlation procedure via quaternions. The proposed method does not rely on feature extraction providing thus an environment-independent solution for the scan matching task. The pyramidal structure provides a fast and accurate scan alignment in a coarse to fine approach. The scan matcher allows us to automatically build in situ 3D mosaics by integrating multiple partially overlapping scans based on a topological inference criterion which improves the global matching consistency. Tests on real data from two prehistoric caves are presented and a performance evaluation is given. [Termes IGN] superposition d'imagesRésumé : (auteur) Today, new earth observation missions are designed from satellite to ground segment to best fit the end-user needs while reducing the overall costs and complexity. Furthermore, an efficient use of high resolution image data is only possible if its location is accurate enough. The accuracy of the image location model depends on the knowledge of platform and orbital parameters (instruments calibration, satellite orbit and pointing) and also of the ground elevation (Digital Elevation Model). Good accuracy can be ensured by stringent requirements on onboard equipments (GPS, gyro, ...) but also by appropriate ground processing which is easier and less expensive to setup. This paper describes and evaluates an automatic method to improve location models during ground processing. This method has been implemented and tested at CNES for current and new missions (such as SPOT/FORMOSAT image ortho-rectification, Pleiades-HR images mosaicking or Venμs images time-series generation). These results must be considered for future missions designing.
