[Termes IGN] qualité des donnéesRésumé : (auteur) The increase of recreational activities in the mountains and a growing amount of websites proposing geographic data, offer new opportunities for societal needs such as mountain rescue, biodiversity monitoring, outdoor activities. However, the main issue with the websites data is the lack of metadata that minimizes its reuse outside the community that produced the data. The goal of this paper is to study and generate quality and descriptive metadata using ISO standards. To this end, we propose a method based on a common vocabulary such as an ontology and a data matching process. The first one allows to associate to each type of feature from an available geographic dataset an ontology class that will facilitate data matching, reproducibility of results and minimize semantic heterogeneity. The second one allows to define matching links between features representing the same entity in the real world and compute quality indicators based on the validated links. Finally, at the end of this process, we are able to generate descriptive and quality metadata. By following ISO standards and using the QualityML dictionary for measures, the metadata is serialized to XML and can finally be published as open source. Our approach was applied to five different landmark datasets in the French Alps region. New insights were acquired regarding positional accuracy and semantic granularity. While many studies have used such data to explore human-environment interaction in urban settings, few have investigated natural, non-urban settings. To address this gap, this study systematically explores the content of online reviews of nature-based recreation activities, and develops a fine-grained hierarchical model that includes 28 aspects grouped into three main domains: activity, settings, and emotions/cognition. It further demonstrates how the model can be used to explore the variation in recreation experiences across activities, setting the stage for the analysis of the spatio-temporal variations in recreation experiences in the future. Importantly, the study provides an annotated corpus that can be used as a training dataset for developing methods to automatically capture aspects of recreation experiences in texts. [Termes IGN] transport urbainRésumé : (auteur) The large volume of data automatically collected by smart card fare systems offers a rich source of information regarding daily human activities with a high resolution of spatial and temporal representation. This provides an opportunity for aiding transport planners and policy-makers to plan transport systems and cities more responsively. However, there are currently limitations when it comes to understanding the secondary activities of individual commuters. Accordingly, in this paper, we propose a framework to detect and infer secondary activities from individuals’ daily travel patterns from the smart card data and reduce the use of conventional surveys. First, we proposed a ‘heuristic secondary activity identification algorithm’, which uses commuters’ primary locations (home & work) and the direction (from & to) information to identify secondary activities for individuals. The algorithm provides a high-level classification of the activity types as before-work, midday and after-work activity patterns of individuals. Second, this classification is semantically enriched using Points of Interests to provide meaningful insights into individuals’ travel purposes and mobility in an urban environment. Lastly, using the transit data of London as a case study, the model is compared with a volunteer survey to demonstrate its effectiveness and offering a cost-effective method to travel demand research. Participants contribute to this crowdsourced project by adding geometric and semantic data. However, both missing geometric and semantic data still cause complete ness problems. In this paper, a semi-automated approach is suggested to identify the values of leisure tag of polygon features. The approach uses geometric (rectangularity, density, area, and distances to bus stop and shop) and semantic (amenity) data and estimates the key values using random forest classifier. In short, the results show that tag identification was conducted in three districts of Ankara with f - score s 78%, 86%, and 87%. Many indices/scores have been developed by scholars to measure the walkability in a local community. However, most existing walking indices/scores involve urban planning-oriented, local service-oriented, regional accessibility-oriented, and physical activity-oriented walkability assessments. Since shopping and dining are two major leisure activities in our daily lives, more attention should be given to the shopping or dining-oriented walking environment. Therefore, we developed two additional walking indices that focus on shopping or dining. The point of interest (POI), vegetation coverage, water coverage, distance to bus/subway station, and land surface temperature were employed to construct walking indices based on 50-meter street segments. Then, walking index values were categorized into seven recommendation levels. The field verification illustrates that the proposed walking indices can accurately represent the walking environment for shopping and dining. The results in this study could provide references for citizens seeking to engage in activities of shopping and dining with a good walking environment.
