[Termes IGN] vitesseRésumé : (Auteur) Construction of scaled-down landslide models is an important means for landslide study. The objective of this study is to develop an innovative non-contact photogrammetric system to meet the challenge for monitoring the fast surface deformation of a laboratory-simulated landslide, which can detect pre-failure events and the final failure, provide sectional and overall surface deformation patterns, and generate speed maps during the rapid slope failure. We proposed an event detector based on altered surface features in the slower SLRC (single-lensreflex camera) image sequence to detect pre-failure events, while a combined analysis tool used the surface velocity fields and deformation areas based on fast HSCS (high-speed stereocamera system) stereo image sequences to reveal fast-changing landslide behavior during the short final failure. The introduced surface change detector uses the percentage of sliding block areas, percentage of changed features, and average speeds. It successfully detected four pre-failure local collapse events and the final slope failure; the extent of surface changes reached its maximum to accumulate energy 1.5 seconds before the failure when the average speed of changed features achieved its peak of 0.8 m/s. The developed system achieved a position accuracy of 3.8 mm and a speed accuracy of 0.11 m/s. The analysis result demonstrated a time period of 66 minutes before the failure which is confirmed by significant signals from both imaging and contact sensors and is important for landslide early warning. A field implementation scheme in western China will be designed and realized in the near future. [Termes IGN] transformation en ondelettesRésumé : (Auteur) Landslide mapping is indispensable for efficient land use management and planning. Landslide inventory maps must be produced for various purposes, such as to record the landslide magnitude in an area and to examine the distribution, types, and forms of slope failures. The use of this information enables the study of landslide susceptibility, hazard, and risk, as well as of the evolution of landscapes affected by landslides. In tropical countries, precipitation during the monsoon season triggers hundreds of landslides in mountainous regions. The preparation of a landslide inventory in such regions is a challenging task because of rapid vegetation growth. Thus, enhancing the proficiency of landslide mapping using remote sensing skills is a vital task. Various techniques have been examined by researchers. This study uses a robust data fusion technique that integrates high-resolution airborne laser scanning data (LiDAR) with high-resolution QuickBird satellite imagery (2.6-m spatial resolution) to identify landslide locations in Bukit Antarabangsa, Ulu Klang, Malaysia. This idea is applied for the first time to identify landslide locations in an urban environment in tropical areas. A wavelet transform technique was employed to achieve data fusion between LiDAR and QuickBird imagery. An object-oriented classification method was used to differentiate the landslide locations from other land use/covers. The Taguchi technique was employed to optimize the segmentation parameters, whereas the rule-based technique was used for object-based classification. In addition, to assess the impact of fusion in classification and landslide analysis, the rule-based classification method was also applied on original QuickBird data which have not been fused. Landslide locations were detected, and the confusion matrix was used to examine the proficiency and reliability of the results. The achieved overall accuracy and kappa coefficient were 90.06% and 0.84, respectively, for fused data. Mor- over, the acquired producer and user accuracies for landslide class were 95.86% and 95.32%, respectively. Results of the accuracy assessment for QuickBird data before fusion showed 65.65% and 0.59 for overall accuracy and kappa coefficient, respectively. It revealed that fusion made a significant improvement in classification results. The direction of mass movement was recognized by overlaying the final landslide classification map with LiDAR-derived slope and aspect factors. Results from the tested site in a hilly area showed that the proposed method is easy to implement, accurate, and appropriate for landslide mapping in a tropical country, such as Malaysia. [Termes IGN] vitesseRésumé : (auteur) The high rate GPS velocity determination technology which is based on the broadcast ephemeris and epoch differenced model can retrieve displacement of ground motion with the precision of a few centimetres to decimetres in real time. Moreover, the precision of the recovered displacement can be improved if the un-modelled errors such as broadcast ephemeris residuals, atmospheric residuals, multipath effects and high frequency noise are tackled more accurately. In this paper, we propose a method to improve the precision of the recovered displacement by appropriately making use of reference station corrections. For the reference stations, the coordinates are highly constrained to extract the error corrections that are to be broadcast via a communication link to the rover. After correcting the rover’s observations, some errors such as ephemeris residuals and atmospheric residuals are effectively eliminated or at least reduced. This improves the accuracy of the observations and thus enhances the reliability of the velocity estimation. The displacement can be recovered by integrating the estimated velocity after de-trending using a linear trend that is caused by the un-corrected residuals. The series of validation results in the experiment have shown that the displacement of the simulated motion can be real time recovered with a precision of 1–2 cm, and is thus applicable for real time monitoring of the ground motion.
