[Termes IGN] superposition d'imagesRésumé : (Auteur) A large amount high-resolution satellite imagery (hrsi) has been available in the commercial market because of its value in creating accurate base maps for various applications. As massive amounts of HRSI are acquired globally by satellites with short revisit times, automated but accurate georegistration is still required despite advances in precise orbit tracking and estimation. Motivated by the attractive properties of airborne lidar data, such as their high resolu-tion and accuracy, this study proposes a new automated method for refining the HRSI with rational polynomial coefficients (RPCs) using airborne lidar information. By projecting the lidar intensity return into the HRSI space, the image matching complexity is reduced to a simple, 2D case. The true challenge is in overcoming the difference between the HRSI and the lidar intensity return to allow for reliable matching. To this end, this paper proposes a new method based on simple relative edge cross correlation (RECC) with a screening method to prevent false matching. To make the approach more robust, data snooping was added for a final detection of outliers. Experiments were performed using three Kompsat-2 images and the potential of the approach. [Termes IGN] zone polaireRésumé : (Auteur) The in situ measurements of electron contents from GRACE K-band (dual-frequency) ranging system and CHAMP planar Langmuir probe were used to validate the international reference ionosphere (IRI) models. The comparison using measurements from year 2003 to 2007 shows a general agreement between data and the model outputs. The improvement in the newer IRI model (IRI-2007) is evident with the measurements from the GRACE satellites orbiting at the higher altitude. We present the comparison between the models and data comprehensively for various cases in solar activity, local time, season, and latitude. The IRI models do not well predict the electron density in the years 2006 and later, when the solar activity is extremely low. The IRI models generally overestimate the electron density during local winter while they underestimate during local summer. In the equatorial region, the large difference at local sunrise lasts for all years and all seasons. The IRI models do not perform well in predicting the anomaly in the polar region such as the Weddell Sea Anomaly. These discrepancies are likely due to smoothed (12-month averaged) solar activity indices used in the IRI models and due to insufficient spherical harmonic representation not able to capture small spatial scales. In near future, further improvement on the IRI models is expected by assimilating those in situ satellite data by implementing higher resolution (spatial and temporal) parameterizations. [Termes IGN] vitesseRésumé : (Auteur) Continuous Range (CR) query and Continuous K-Nearest Neighbor (CKNN) query are two important types of spatio-temporal queries. Given a time interval [ts , te ] and a moving query object q, a CR query is to find the moving objects whose Euclidean distances to q are within a user-given distance at each time instant within [ts , te ]. A CKNN query is to retrieve the K-Nearest Neighbors (KNNs) of this query object q at each time instant within [ts , te ]. In this paper, we investigate how to process these spatio-temporal queries efficiently under the situation that the velocity of each object is not fixed. This uncertainty on the velocity of object inevitably results in high complexity in processing spatio-temporal queries. We will discuss the complications incurred by this uncertainty and propose two algorithms, namely the Possibility-based possible within objects searching algorithm and the Possibility-based possible KNN searching algorithm, for the CR query and the CKNN query, respectively. A Possibility-based model is designed accordingly to quantify the possibility of each object being the result of a CR query or a CKNN query. Comprehensive experiments are performed to demonstrate the effectiveness and the efficiency of the proposed approaches. A CKNN query is to retrieve the K-nearest neighbors (KNNs) of a moving user at each time instant within a user-given time interval [t s , t e ]. In this paper, we investigate how to process a CKNN query efficiently. Different from the previous related works, our work relieves the past assumption, that an object moves with a fixed velocity, by allowing that the velocity of the object can vary within a known range. Due to the introduction of this uncertainty on the velocity of each object, processing a CKNN query becomes much more complicated. We will discuss the complications incurred by this uncertainty and propose a cost-effective P2 KNN algorithm to find the objects that could be the KNNs at each time instant within the given query time interval. Besides, a probability-based model is designed to quantify the possibility of each object being one of the KNNs. Comprehensive experiments demonstrate the efficiency and the effectiveness of the proposed approach.
