[Termes IGN] mise à jour de base de donnéesRésumé : (Auteur) CORINE Land-Cover (CLC) and its by-products are considered as a reference baseline for land-cover mapping over Europe and subsequent applications. CLC is currently tediously produced each six years from both the visual interpretation and the automatic analysis of a large amount of remote sensing images. Observing that various European countries regularly produce in parallel their own land-cover country-scaled maps with their own specifications, we propose to directly infer CORINE Land-Cover from an existing map, therefore steadily decreasing the updating time-frame. No additional remote sensing image is required. In this paper, we focus more specifically on translating a country-scale remote sensed map, OSO (France), into CORINE Land Cover, in a supervised way. OSO and CLC not only differ in nomenclature but also in spatial resolution. We jointly harmonize both dimensions using a contextual and asymmetrical Convolution Neural Network with positional encoding. We show for various use cases that our method achieves a superior performance than the traditional semantic-based translation approach, achieving an 81% accuracy over all of France, close to the targeted 85% accuracy of CLC. [Termes IGN] lithologieRésumé : (auteur) Karst Rocky Desertification (KRD) has become the most serious ecological disaster in Southwest China. We used the data of Thematic Mapper (TM) images from 1990, 1995, 2000, 2004, and 2011 and the 2016 Operational Land Imager (OLI) image. These sensing images were pre-processed by removing non-karst areas based on lithology and cutting away the land types impossibly generating KRD from land use maps. Then, we used a Classification And Regression Tree (CART) to classify the KRD. We want to improve the interpretation accuracy of KRD through the above steps. The results were as follows: (1) The KRD experiences the evolution process of ‘first deterioration and then improvement’. The rate is −4.94 km2.a−1 over a period of 1990 to 2004, and the rate is 36.48 km2.a−1 from 2004 to 2016; (2) The most influential factors causing KRD formation are the lithology and the resident population density, with contribution rates of 30.17% and 25.86%, respectively. [Termes IGN] ruissellementRésumé : (auteur) Rainwater harvesting (RWH) is one of the major techniques that is investigated in the present study using Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) and Weighted Linear Combination (WLC) methods as two tools for decision-making, weighting and combining different thematic layers include land use, slope, drainage density and hydrological soil groups (HSG). The runoff map obtained by the distributed spatial-physical WetSpa model is considered as a useful layer that is integrated with other thematic layers in the geographic information system (GIS) environment for identifying RWH sites. Kakareza watershed (1132 km2) in Iran was selected as a study area to carry out the foregoing approach. The results showed that 256 km2 of the study area is good for RWH, 360 km2 is moderate and 516 km2 is poor. Thus, about 22.61% (256 km2) of Kakareza watershed is highly suitable for farm ponds. This article recommends the RWH suitable sites to a judicious decision for better water management in the area. [Termes IGN] utilisation du solRésumé : (Auteur) In the process of agricultural land consolidation, the land parcels are optimally redesigned and rearranged in such a way that the dimensions of the resulting parcels are proportional to agricultural criteria such as irrigation discharge, soil texture, and cropping pattern. Besides these criteria, spatial factors like slope, road accessibility, volume of earthwork, and geometrical factors such as size and shape of parcels are also included in the design process of agricultural land partitioning. In this study, a land partitioning model was proposed using a multi‐objective artificial bee colony algorithm (MOABC‐LP) taking into consideration the mentioned factors. Initially, a feasible dimension range of parcels in a block was calculated based on irrigation efficiency. Two partitioning layouts were defined according to the topography and geometry of blocks. The proposed method was applied to a real study area and the results suggest that the land partitioning plan obtained by the MOABC‐LP model, in comparison with a designer's plan, not only makes the shape and size of parcels more compatible with the topographical and agricultural conditions of each block, but also reduces their cut‐and‐fill ratio. [Termes IGN] visualisation multiéchelleRésumé : (auteur) As a key focus of cartography and terrain analysis, the simplification of a digital elevation model (DEM) is used to preserve the pattern features of the terrain surface while suppressing its details over multiple scales. Statistical filtering and structural analysis methods are commonly used for this process. The structural analysis method performs well in identifying terrain structural edges, while it tends to discard the smooth morphology of a terrain surface. In addition, the filter that aims to reduce noise on a surface may over-smooth the terrain structural edges. Therefore, to preserve both the terrain structural edges and smooth morphology, we propose to combine the techniques of statistical filtering and structural analysis. Specifically, all the critical elevation points and structural edges are first detected from the DEM surface by using the structural analysis method. Then, the iterative guided normal filter is used to smooth the generalized DEM with the guidance of the structure of the original surface. After this process, the terrain structure is retained in the smooth surface of the DEM. The experimental results with a real-world dataset show that our method can inherit the merits of both structural analysis and statistical filter in preserving terrain features for multi-scale DEM representations.
