Note de contenu : Introduction

[Termes IGN] International Terrestrial Reference FrameRésumé : (Auteur) Following the procedure already used for the ITRF2005 formation, the ITRF2008 uses as input data time series of station positions and Earth Orientation Parameters (EOPs) provided by the four space geodetic techniques (VLBI, SLR, GPS and DORIS). The integration of these techniques together in the ITRF construction crucially requires co-location sites where two or more techniques are (were) operated and where local ties between the instrument reference points are available. The paper summarizes briefly the main features and results of the ITRF2008, with a particular emphasis on the quality assessment of the estimated quantities: station positions, velocities and Polar motion. For more details regarding the ITRF2008 description and results the reader may refer to Altamimi et al. (2011). [Termes IGN] géoïde localRésumé : (Auteur) By demand for densification of EUVN_DA network with additional points on state territory, Republic Croatia is again activated in project EUVN_DA on national level in year 2005. During project EUVN_DA network is expanded from 8 existing points to 20 points. Difference between EGG97 and EUVN model showed possible errors on some areas or points (HR05 Split). Therefore, those errors were eliminated by measurements and results were free of errors from first EUVN campaign in year 1997. Differences between national model of geoid HRG2000 and EUVN show better adjustment of geoid surface for state area than continen-tal EGG97 geoid. Therefore they are additional control in densification of EUVN_DA project. Result analysis along coast showed large differences between geoid models. From the old gravi-ty network (84 gravity points) 25 gravity points were used. After stabilization of 11 new gravity points Basic Gravity Network comprises 36 gravity points. Finalization of establishment of the Fundamental Gravity Network of the Republic of Croatia is also planned to improve absolute national geoid orientation. As well, EUVN points in Croatia, based on Fundamental Gravity Network, will ensure better identification of geoid differences on continental level. Firstly we wanted to assess the full potential but also the limitations of CHAMP data and a CHAMP-like satellite mission for gravity field determination. Secondly we wanted to gain as much insight as possible in determining gravity fields (static and time variable) from space-based GNSS data in general, because several current and future satellite missions (dedicated to gravity field research, but also non-dedicated) equipped with GNSS receivers could benefit from improvements made here. We believe to have come close to achieving these goals by generating, validating, and publishing the static Earth gravity field models AIUB-CHAMPOIS, AIUB-CHAMP02S, and AIUB-CHAMP03S. Furthermore, the largest constituents of the seasonal gravity field variations could be retrieved from CHAMP data, as well. The Celestial Mechanics Approach (CMA) was successfully applied for gravity field determination. Note de contenu : 1 Introduction

[Termes IGN] station de référenceRésumé : (Auteur) We apply global optimization in order to optimize the referencing (and consequently the stability) of the Earth Orientation Parameters (EOP) with respect to ITRF2005. These EOP are derived at a daily sampling from SLR data, simultaneously with weekly station positions. The EOP referencing is carried out with minimum constraints applied weekly to the three rotations and over core station networks. Our approach is based on a multi objective genetic algorithm, a particular stochastic global optimization method, the reference system effects being the objectives to minimize. We thus use rigorous criteria for the optimal weekly core station selection. The results evidence an improvement of 10% of the stability for Polar Motion (PM) series in comparison to the results obtained with the network specially designed for EOP referencing by the Analysis Working Group of the International Laser Ranging Service. This improvement of nearly 25 ?as represents 50% of the current precision of the IERS 05 C04 PM reference series. We also test the possibility of averaging the weekly networks provided by our algorithm (the Genetically Modified Networks—GMN) over the whole time period. Although the dynamical nature of the GMN is clearly a key point of their success, we can derive such a global mean core network, which could be useful for practical applications regarding EOP referencing. Using this latter core network moreover provides more stable EOP series than the conventional network does.
