[Termes IGN] partage de données localiséesRésumé : (Auteur) A grid is concerned with the integration, virtualization, and management of services and resources in a distributed, heterogeneous environment that supports virtual organizations across traditional administrative and organizational domains. Spatial data infrastructures (SDI) aim to make spatial data from multiple sources available and usable to as wide an audience as possible. The first SDIs of the 1990s followed a top–down approach with the focus on data production and centralization. In recent years, SDIs have seen a huge increase in the number of participants, necessitating a more dynamic bottom-up approach. While much research has been done on web services and SDIs, research on the use of data grids for SDIs is limited. In this paper an emergency response scenario is presented to illustrate how the data grid approach can be used as a decentralized platform for address data in a dynamic SDI. Next, Compartimos (Spanish for ‘we share’) is presented, a reference model for an address data grid in an SDI based on the Open Grid Services Architecture (OGSA). Compartimos identifies the essential components and their capabilities required for a decentralized address data grid in a dynamic SDI. It deviates from the current centralized approach, allows data resources to come and go and node hosts to grow and shrink as necessary. An address data grid in an SDI is both a novel application for data grids as well as a novel technology in SDI environments and thus advances the mutual understanding between data grids and SDIs. In conclusion, additional research required for address data grids in SDIs is discussed. [Termes IGN] web mappingRésumé : (auteur) Improving the use of vector data in web mapping is often shown as an important challenge. Such shift from raster to vector web maps would open web mapping and GIS to new innovations and new practices. The main obstacle is a performance issue: Vector web maps in nowadays web mapping environments are usually too slow and not usable. Existing techniques for vector web mapping cannot solve alone the performance issue. This article describes a unified framework where some of these techniques are integrated in order to build efficient vector web mapping clients and servers. This framework is composed of the following elements: Specific formats for vector data and symbology, vector tiling, spatial index services, and generalization for multi-scale data. A prototype based on this framework has been implemented and has shown satisfying results. Some principles for future standards to support the development of vector web mapping are given. [Termes IGN] semis de pointsRésumé : (auteur) Remote sensing is a study that provides information on targets of interest without direct interaction with them. Generally, the term is used for measurement techniques that detect electro-magnetic radiation emitted or reflected from the targets.
Commonly used wavelength ranges include visible, infra-red, microwaves, and thermal bands. This information can be exploited to determine the structural and spectral properties of targets. Remote sensing techniques are typically utilized in mapping solutions, environment monitoring, target recognition, change detection, and in creation of physical models.
In Finland, remote sensing research is of specific importance in forest sciences and industry as they need precise information on tree quantity and quality over large forest ranges. Tree species information on individual tree level is an important parameter to achieve this goal.
The aim of this thesis is to study how individual tree species information can be extracted with multiple source remote sensing data. The aim is achieved by combining spatial and spectral remote sensing data. Structural properties of individual trees are determined from three dimensional point clouds collected with laser scanners. Spectral properties of trees are collected with cameras or spectrometers.
The thesis consists of four separate studies. The first study examined how shading information of trees canopies could be exploited to improve tree species classification in data collected with airborne sensors. The second study examined the classification performance of a low-cost, multi-sensor, mobile mapping system. The third study investigated the classification performance and accuracy of a novel, active hyperspectral laser scanner. Finally, the fourth study evaluated the suitability of artificial surfaces as on-site intensity calibration targets.
The results of the three classification studies showed that the use of combined point cloud and spectral information yielded the best classification results in all study cases when compared against classification results obtained with only structural or spectral information. Moreover, the studies showed that the improved results could be achieved with a low total number of mixed structural and spectral classification parameters. The fourth study showed that the artificial surfaces work as calibration surfaces only in limited cases.
The main outcome of the thesis was that the active remote sensing systems measuring multiple wavelengths simultaneously should be promoted. They have a significant potential to improve tree species classification performance even with a few application-specific wavelengths.Numéro de notice : 15863 Affiliation des auteurs : non IGN Thématique : FORET/IMAGERIE Nature : Thèse étrangère Note de thèse : Doctoral dissertation : Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing : University of Helsinki : 2012 En ligne : http://hdl.handle.net/10138/33956 Format de la ressource électronique : URL Permalink : https://documentation.ensg.eu/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=93650 Valorisation numérique du théâtre gallo-romain de Mandeure / Emmanuel Alby in Revue Française de Photogrammétrie et de Télédétection, n° 196 (Janvier 2012)PermalinkA web-based 3D mapping application using WebGL allowing interaction with images, point clouds and models / Alexandre Devaux (2012)Permalink3D-sutra-interactive analysis tool for a Web atlas of scanned sutra inscriptions in China / N.
