[Termes IGN] précision infrapixellaireRésumé : (Auteur) The aim of this work is to evaluate the influence of point measurements in images, with subpixel accuracy, and its contribution in the calibration of digital cameras. Also, the effect of subpixel measurements in 3D coordinates of check points in the object space will be evaluated. With this purpose, an algorithm that allows subpixel accuracy was implemented for semi-automatic determination of points of interest, based on Förstner operator. Experiments were accomplished with a block of images acquired with the multispectral camera DuncanTech MS3100-CIR. The influence of subpixel measurements in the adjustment by Least Square Method (LSM) was evaluated by the comparison of estimated standard deviation of parameters in both situations, with manual measurement (pixel accuracy) and with subpixel estimation. Additionally, the influence of subpixel measurements in the 3D reconstruction was also analyzed. Based on the obtained results, i. e., on the quantification of the standard deviation reduction in the Inner Orientation Parameters (IOP) and also in the relative error of the 3D reconstruction, it was shown that measurements with subpixel accuracy are relevant for some tasks in Photogrammetry, mainly for those in which the metric quality is of great relevance, as Camera Calibration. [Termes IGN] série temporelleRésumé : (Auteur) The Gravity field and steady-state Ocean Circulation Explorer (GOCE) satellite, launched on 17 March 2009, is designed to measure the Earth’s mean gravity field with unprecedented accuracy at spatial resolutions down to 100 km. The accurate calibration of the gravity gradiometer on-board GOCE is of utmost importance for achieving the mission goals. ESA’s baseline method for the calibration uses star sensor and accelerometer data of a dedicated calibration procedure, which is executed every 2 months. In this paper, we describe a method for monitoring the evolution of calibration parameter during that time. The method works with star sensor and accelerometer data and does not require gravity field models, which distinguishes it from other existing methods. We present time series of calibration parameters estimated from GOCE data from 1 November 2009 to 17 May 2010. The time series confirm drifts in the calibration parameters that are present in the results of other methods, including ESA’s baseline method. Although these drifts are very small, they degrade the gravity gradients, leading to the conclusion that the calibration parameters of the ESA’s baseline method need to be linearly interpolated. Further, we find a correction of -36 * 10-6 for one calibration parameter (in-line differential scale factor of the cross-track gradiometer arm), which improves the gravity gradient performance. The results are validated by investigating the trace of the calibrated gravity gradients and comparing calibrated gravity gradients with reference gradients computed along the GOCE orbit using the ITG-Grace-2010s gravity field model. [Termes IGN] précision submillimétriqueRésumé : (auteur) This paper presents two methods to calibrate a photogrammetric-based mobile mapping system. The paper is organised as follow. The first part presents the problem we are trying to solve, i.e. the calibration of multi-camera head on a mobile mapping system equipped with an Inertial Navigation System (INS). We want to estimate on the one hand the relative pose of images within the head and on the other hand the relative pose between the head and the INS. The second part presents the first calibration method which is based on observations of a sub-millimeter accuracy topometric target network. The third part explores a method to determine the calibration on-line, i.e. using the images acquired during the surveys. The final section compare the two methods on an neutral data set and resumes the pros and cons of each method. [Termes IGN] orientation du capteur intégréeRésumé : (Auteur) Over the past two decades, the development of Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) technology, inertial navigation technology and Inertial Navigation Systems (INS) and their application to sensor orientation in photogrammetry and remote sensing has led to more precise, accurate, reliable and cost efficient orientation and calibration methods and procedures. Today, most airborne photogrammetric and remote sensing systems are equipped with GNSS receivers and inertial sensors. To a large extent and more or less independently from the imaging geometry and sensor type, orientation is performed with the “direct” and “integrated” methods. In this paper we introduce a new orientation method that we call “Fast AT” for frame images. The new method combines image measurements, ground control and aerial control observations in novel quantitative and qualitative ways. Depending on project specifications, Fast AT can be a robust alternative to direct orientation and, at the very least, a fast quality control tool for any orientation task. We analyze the performance of Fast AT with analogue and digital frame imagery and draw conclusions on its general properties. [Termes IGN] série de FourierRésumé : (Auteur) This paper presents a new family of rigorous and flexible mathematical self-calibration additional parameters (APs) for airborne camera calibration. Photogrammetric self-calibration can – to a very large extent – be considered as a function approximation problem in mathematics. It is shown, that algebraic polynomials are less desirable for designing self-calibration APs due to the highly correlated terms. Based on the mathematical approximation theory, we suggest that Fourier series be the optimal mathematical basis functions for self-calibration purpose. A whole family of so-called Fourier self-calibration APs is developed, whose solid theoretical foundations are the Laplace’s Equation and the Fourier Theorem. Fourier APs are orthogonal, rigorous, flexible, generic and efficient for calibrating the image distortion of frame-format airborne cameras. The high performance of Fourier APs is demonstrated in many practical tests on different camera systems, including the DMC, DMCII, UltracamX, UltracamXp and DigiCAM cameras. We illustrate the theoretical and practical advantages of the Fourier APs over the physical APs and the popular polynomial APs. The joint applications with physical models are promoted for specific applications as well. On account of the theoretical justifications and high practical performance, Fourier APs should be preferred for in situ airborne camera calibration.
