[Termes IGN] trafic routierRésumé : (Auteur) Public vehicles and personal navigation assistants have become increasingly equipped with single-frequency global positioning system (GPS) receivers or loggers. These commonly used terminals offer an inexpensive way for acquiring large volumes of GPS traces, which contain information pertaining to road position and traffic rules. Using this new type of spatial data resource, we propose a novel approach for generating high-quality routable road maps. In this approach, a simplified road network graph model uses circular boundaries to separate all GPS traces into road intersections and road segments and builds road networks that maintain their identical geometric topologies through the entry/exit points at the original boundaries. One difficulty inherent to this type of approach is how to best determine the appropriate spatial coverage for road intersections. Conflict points among GPS traces that have large intersection angles usually occur within the physical areas of road intersections, particularly those involving left turns. Therefore, we determined a proper circle boundary for individual road intersections by conducting a spatial analysis of such feature points. This approach was implemented using Python and PostgreSQL/PostGIS and was tested in Huaibei City, China. Based on a comparison with human-interpreted results, the automatically generated routable road map was demonstrated to be of high quality and displayed detailed road networks with turning at various at-grade intersections, interchanges and U-turns. [Termes IGN] pseudoliteRésumé : (auteur) The positioning configuration optimization is a basic problem in surveying, and the geometric dilution of precision (GDOP) is a key index to handle this problem. Simplex graphs as regular polygons and regular polyhedrons are the well-known configurations with the lowest GDOP. However, it has been proved that there are at most five kinds of regular polyhedrons. We analytically solve the GDOP minimization problem with arbitrary observational freedom to extend the current knowledge. The configuration optimization framework established is composed of the algebraic and geometric operators (including combination, reflection, collinear mapping, projection and three kinds of equivalence relations), basic properties to GDOP minimization (including continuity, combination invariant, reflection invariant, rotation invariant and collinear invariant) and the lowest GDOP configurations (including cones, regular polygons, regular polyhedrons, Descartes configuration, helical configuration and generalized Walker configuration, and their reflections and combinations). GDOP minimization criterion and D-maximization criterion both reduce to the same criterion matrices that the optimization becomes the problem for solving an underdetermined quadratic equation system. Making use of the concepts for solving underdetermined linear equation system, the concepts of base configuration (single classification) and general configuration (combined classification) are applied to the GDOP minimization to analytically solve the quadratic equation system. Firstly, the problems are divided into two subproblems by two kinds of GDOP to reveal the impact of the clock-offset on the configuration optimization, and it shows that the symmetry and uniformity play a key role in identifying the systematic errors. Then, the solution of the GDOP minimization is classified by the number of symmetry axes, that the base configurations with at least one symmetry axis and the general configurations without symmetry axis are categorized to be two large classifications. Complex configurations can be then generated by the combination and the reflection of those base configurations with simplex structure, and this indicates that completely solving the GDOP minimization needs to solve the simplex classifications primarily. Ultimately, constrained or unconstrained configuration optimization examples including GDOP distribution analysis, single-global satellite navigation system (GNSS) or multi-GNSS constellation design, configuration optimization of pseudolites and configuration design of buoys for underwater positioning are performed by employing the properties, lemmas, theorems and corollaries proposed. [Termes IGN] TaïwanRésumé : (auteur) A total of 17 low-cost single-frequency L1 global positioning system (GPS) receivers with real-time internet transmission have been set up to intensify the pre-existing network of continuously operating reference stations (CORS) in southeastern Taiwan since 2008. The main objective of this study is to investigate the validity and uncertainty of the L1 stations in southeastern Taiwan. It is well known that the main error source of single-frequency GPS relative positioning in low latitude areas comes from an atmospheric delay, even if the relative distance is only a few kilometres. In this study, two methods of correction algorithms, including adopting local ionospheric models and applying correction terms from local CORS, are tested to estimate the long-period accuracy of station positioning. Our results indicate that the standard deviation of calibrated relative positioning is in a linear trend with respect to the baseline length. The derived positioning accuracies from applying correction terms from CORS provide satisfactory results with the linear ratios of standard deviation/baseline of 0·11±0·02, 0·12±0·02, 0·44±0·06 mm km–1 in the north, east and up component, respectively for relative distances under 30 km. The corresponding positioning scatterings amount to 3, 3 and 13 mm, in the north, east and up component, respectively. Although the use of a local ionospheric model algorithm can significantly reduce positioning variation, especially in the north component, the use of the correction terms method yields the best positioning results for three components, horizontal and vertical.
