[Termes IGN] repère de référenceRésumé : (auteur) We examine the impact of the strategy adopted regarding range biases on Satellite Laser Ranging data processing results. More especially, we test the stability of the weekly Terrestrial Reference Frame scale factors computed w.r.t. ITRF2000 according to the two different strategies which are studied in this paper. In the first approach, range biases are not considered in the data processing. In the second approach, we use a temporal de-correlation method to rigorously estimate all station range biases. The first approach provides weekly scale factors with a piece-wise behavior. More precisely, the time series exhibit a drift of − 2.5 ± 0.2 mm/yr between 2001.0 and 2006.0 and provide a RMS of 5.2 mm. The second approach, which makes the most physical sense, really provides regular weekly scale factors. Indeed, between 2001.0 and 2006.0, these series exhibit a drift of − 0.7 ± 0.2 mm/yr and the RMS of the whole time series is 3.7 mm. Moreover, less discontinuities are detected in the station position residual time series provided by the second approach than in those produced with the first approach. [Termes IGN] réseau permanent EUREFRésumé : (auteur) EUREF (www.euref.eu) is the IAG (International Association of Geodesy) Reference Frame Sub-commission for Europe integrated in Sub-Commission 1.3 – Regional Reference Frames, of Commission 1 – Reference Frames, of the IAG. The activities carried out by EUREF are related to the definition, realization and maintenance of the European Reference Frame. EUREF focuses on both the geo-spatial and the vertical components and has the participation of almost all the European countries. This paper presents an overview of the status and recent developments of EUREF core projects, which are aimed at upgrading European-wide geodetic reference systems to support both scientific and continental geo-referencing activities. [Termes IGN] International Terrestrial Reference Frame
[Termes IGN] International Terrestrial Reference System
[Termes IGN] système de référence mondialRésumé : (auteur) As the International Terrestrial Reference Frame (ITRF) is constructed by combination of space geodesy technique solutions together with terrestrial local ties in co-location sites, it then inherits strengths and weaknesses of the combined data. This paper uses the ITRF2005 results in order to illustrate the critical aspects of the combination that impact the ITRF datum definition: the origin, the scale and the No Net Rotation condition. The main ITRF2005 results, using as input data time series of station positions, indicate a drift of 1.8 mm/yr in the origin Z-translation component with respect to ITRF2000, while SLR solutions are used to define the origins of both frames. A scale bias of about 1 ppb between VLBI and SLR solutions is also detected. Possible causes of this inconsistency include the poor SLR and VLBI networks and their co-locations, systematic errors and possible inconsistent model corrections used in the data analysis of both techniques. As conclusion of this paper, some recommendations for improvements of future ITRF solutions are addressed. [Termes IGN] repère de référenceRésumé : (Auteur) All gravity field functionals obtained from an Earth gravitational model (EGM) depend on the underlying terrestrial reference frame (TRF), with respect to which the EGM’s spherical harmonic coefficients refer to. In order to maintain a coherent framework for the comparison of current and future EGMs, it is thus important to investigate the consistency of their inherent TRFs, especially when their use is intended for high precision studies. Following the methodology described in an earlier paper by Kleusberg (1980), the similarity transformation parameters between the associated reference frames for several EGMs (including the most recent CHAMP/GRACE models at the time of writing this paper) are estimated in the present study. Specifically, the differences between the spherical harmonic coefficients for various pairs of EGMs are parameterized through a 3D-similarity spatial transformation model that relates their underlying TRFs. From the least-squares adjustment of such a parametric model, the origin, orientation and scale stability between the EGMs’ reference frames can be identified by estimating their corresponding translation, rotation and scale factor parameters. Various aspects of the estimation procedure and its results are highlighted in the paper, including data weighting schemes, the sensitivity of the results with respect to the selected harmonic spectral band, the correlation structure and precision level of the estimated transformation parameters, the effect of the estimated differences of the EGMs’ reference frames on their height anomaly signal, and the overall feasibility of Kleusberg’s formulae for the assessment of TRF inconsistencies among global geopotential models.
