[Termes IGN] texture d'imageRésumé : (Auteur)In this paper, a novel change detection approach is proposed for multitemporal synthetic aperture radar (SAR) images. The approach is based on two difference images, which are constructed through intensity and texture information, respectively. In the extraction of the texture differences, robust principal component analysis technique is used to separate irrelevant and noisy elements from Gabor responses. Then graph cuts are improved by a novel energy function based on multivariate generalized Gaussian model for more accurately fitting. The effectiveness of the proposed method is proved by the experiment results obtained on several real SAR images data sets. • Aim and methods: Our objective was to estimate the C storage in biomass, litter, and soil of four different plantations (monospecific stands of Larix gmelinii, Pinus tabuliformis, Picea crassifolia, and Populus simonii). Tree component biomass was estimated using allometric equations. The biomasses of understory vegetation and litter were determined by harvesting all the components. C fractions of plant, litter, and soil were measured.
• Results: The ecosystem C storage were as follows: Picea crassifolia (469 t C/ha)>Larix gmelinii (375 t C/ha), Populus simonii (330 t C/ha)>Pinus tabuliformis (281 t C/ha) (Pbranch>trunk>root. The highest soil C (SC) was stored in Picea crassifolia plantation (411 t C/ha), while Populus simonii plantation had a higher SC sequestration rate than others.
• Conclusion : C storage and distribution varied among different plantation ecosystems. Coniferous forests had a higher live biomass and litter C storage. Broadleaf forests had considerable SC sequestration potential after 40 years establishment.

[Termes IGN] température de surfaceRésumé : (Auteur) Cloud cover is generally present in remotely sensed images, which limits the potential of the images for ground information extraction. Therefore, removing the clouds and recovering the ground information for the cloud-contaminated images is often necessary in many applications. In this paper, an effective method based on similar pixel replacement is developed to solve this task. A missing pixel is filled using an appropriate similar pixel within the remaining region of the target image. A multitemporal image is used as the guidance to locate the similar pixels. A pixel-offset based spatio-temporal Markov random fields (MRF) global function is built to find the most suitable similar pixel. The proposed method was tested on MODIS and Landsat images and their land surface temperature products, and the experiments verify that the proposed method can achieve highly accurate results and is effective at dealing with the obvious atmospheric and seasonal differences between multitemporal images. [Termes IGN] série temporelleRésumé : (Auteur)Monitoring phenological change in agricultural land improves our understanding of the adaptation of crops to a warmer climate. Winter wheat–maize and winter wheat–cotton double-cropping are practised in most agricultural areas in the North China Plain. A curve-fitting method is presented to derive winter wheat phenology from SPOT-VEGETATION S10 normalized difference vegetation index (NDVI) data products. The method uses a double-Gaussian model to extract two phenological metrics, the start of season (SOS) and the time of maximum NDVI (MAXT). The results are compared with phenological records at local agrometeorological stations. The SOS and MAXT have close agreement with in situ observations of the jointing date and milk-in-kernel date respectively. The phenological metrics detected show spatial variations that are consistent with known phenological characteristics. This study indicates that time-series analysis with satellite data could be an effective tool for monitoring the phenology of crops and its spatial distribution in a large agricultural region.
