[Termes IGN] polarimétrie radarRésumé : (Auteur) This paper presents fully polarimetric bistatic radar scattering measurements on groups of dielectric vertical and/or tilted square cross-sectional cylinders above a conductive circular plate in the frequency range of 6-18 GHz. The experiments have been conducted in the BABI facility at the French Aerospace Lab (ONERA). The imaging experiments consider an azimuthal bistatic radar configuration with a single incident direction and many scattering directions, in the way that the receiver positions synthesize a 1-D circular aperture in a horizontal plane around the focal point of the anechoic chamber. The bistatic scattering by the different sets of cylinders is also achieved through numerical simulations by using a volume-electric-field-integral-equation model employing a method of moments. First, theoretical and experimental bistatic radar-cross-section values are confronted. The comparisons show a good agreement for all polarization cases (vv, hv, vh, and hh). Then, a near-field reconstruction algorithm has been extended from a monostatic to our bistatic radar configuration in order to generate the reflectivity maps by focusing both theoretical and experimental scattered fields. The comparisons of the 2-D bistatic synthetic aperture radar images show that the two prediction techniques are accurate. [Termes IGN] réseau géodésiqueRésumé : (Auteur) Nowadays, GPS receivers are very reliable because of their good accuracy and precision; however, uncertainty is also inherent in geospatial data. Quality of GPS measurements can be influenced by atmospheric disturbances, multipathing, synchronization of clocks, satellite geometry, geographical features of the observed region, low broadcasting coverage, inadequate transmitting formats, or human or instrumental unknown errors. Assuming that the scenario and technical conditions that can influence the quality of GPS measurements are optimal, that functional and stochastic models that process the signals to a geodetic measurement are correct, and that all the GPS observables are taken in the same conditions, it is still possible to estimate the positional errors as the difference between the real coordinates and those measured by the GPS. In this paper, three spatial linear mixed models, one for each axis, are used for modelling real-time kinematic GPS accuracy and precision, of a multiple-reference-station network in dual-frequency with carrier phase measurements. Along the paper, the proposed models provide an estimate of the “accuracy” in terms of bias defined as the difference between real coordinates and measured coordinates after being processed and “precision” through the standard errors of the estimated differences. This is done using ten different transmitting formats. Mapping and quantifying these differences can be interesting for users and GPS professionals. The performance of these models is illustrated by mapping positional error estimates within the whole region of Navarre, Spain. Sampled data have been taken in 54 out of the 211 geodetic vertex points of this region. Maps show interesting error patterns depending on transmitting formats, the different axes, and the geographical characteristics of the region. Higher differences are found in regions with bad broadcasting coverage, due to the presence of mountains and high degree of humidity. [Termes IGN] régression logistiqueRésumé : (Auteur) Remotely sensed hyperspectral imaging allows for the detailed analysis of the surface of the Earth using advanced imaging instruments which can produce high-dimensional images with hundreds of spectral bands. Supervised hyperspectral image classification is a difficult task due to the unbalance between the high dimensionality of the data and the limited availability of labeled training samples in real analysis scenarios. While the collection of labeled samples is generally difficult, expensive, and time-consuming, unlabeled samples can be generated in a much easier way. This observation has fostered the idea of adopting semisupervised learning techniques in hyperspectral image classification. The main assumption of such techniques is that the new (unlabeled) training samples can be obtained from a (limited) set of available labeled samples without significant effort/cost. In this paper, we develop a new approach for semisupervised learning which adapts available active learning methods (in which a trained expert actively selects unlabeled samples) to a self-learning framework in which the machine learning algorithm itself selects the most useful and informative unlabeled samples for classification purposes. In this way, the labels of the selected pixels are estimated by the classifier itself, with the advantage that no extra cost is required for labeling the selected pixels using this machine-machine framework when compared with traditional machine-human active learning. The proposed approach is illustrated with two different classifiers: multinomial logistic regression and a probabilistic pixelwise support vector machine. Our experimental results with real hyperspectral images collected by the National Aeronautics and Space Administration Jet Propulsion Laboratory's Airborne Visible-Infrared Imaging Spectrometer and the Reflective Optics Spectrographic Imaging System indicate that the use of self-learning represents an effective and promising strategy in the cont- xt of hyperspectral image classification. [Termes IGN] requête spatiale inverseRésumé : (Auteur) Traditional spatial queries return, for a given query object q, all database objects that satisfy a given predicate, such as epsilon range and k-nearest neighbors. This paper defines and studies inverse spatial queries, which, given a subset of database objects Q and a query predicate, return all objects which, if used as query objects with the predicate, contain Q in their result. We first show a straightforward solution for answering inverse spatial queries for any query predicate. Then, we propose a filter-and-refinement framework that can be used to improve efficiency. We show how to apply this framework on a variety of inverse queries, using appropriate space pruning strategies. In particular, we propose solutions for inverse epsilon range queries, inverse k-nearest neighbor queries, and inverse skyline queries. Furthermore, we show how to relax the definition of inverse queries in order to ensure non-empty result sets. Our experiments show that our framework is significantly more efficient than naive approaches.
