[Termes IGN] système de numérisation mobileRésumé : (auteur) Image-based mobile mapping systems enable the efficient acquisition of georeferenced image sequences, which can later be exploited in cloud-based 3D geoinformation services. In order to provide a 360° coverage with accurate 3D measuring capabilities, we present a novel 360° panoramic stereo camera configuration. By using two 360° panorama cameras tilted forward and backward in combination with conventional forward and backward looking stereo camera sytems, we achieve a full 360° multi-stereo coverage. We furthermore developed a new mobile mapping system based on our proposed approach, which is operational and fulfills our high accuracy requirements. We successfully implemented a rigorous sensor and system calibration procedure, which allows calibrating all stereo systems with a superior accuracy compared to that of previous work. Our study delivered absolute 3D point accuracies in the range of 2 to 8 cm and relative accuracies of 3D distances in the range of 1 to 5 cm. We achieved these results in a challenging urban area. Furthermore, we automatically reconstructed a 3D city model of our study area by employing all captured and georeferenced mobile mapping imagery. The result is a highly detailed and almost complete 3D city model of the street-level environment. [Termes IGN] système de numérisation mobileRésumé : (Auteur) This paper proposes a method for tight integration of IMU (Inertial Measurement Unit), stereo VO (Visual Odometry) and digital map for land vehicle navigation, which effectively limits the quick drift of DR (Dead Reckoning) navigation system. In this method, the INS provides the dynamic information of the land vehicle, which is used to predict the position and attitude of cameras in order to obtain the predicted pixel coordinates of features on the image. The difference between the measured and predicted pixel coordinates is used to reduce the accumulated errors of INS. To implement the proposed method, an Extended Kalman filter (EKF) is first used to integrate the inertial and visual sensor data. The integrated solution of position, velocity and azimuth is then applied by fuzzy logic map matching (MM) to project the vehicle location on the correct road link. The projected position on the road link and the road link azimuth can finally be used to reduce the dead reckoning drifts. In this way, the accumulated system errors can be significantly reduced. The testing results indicate that the horizontal RMSE (root-mean-square-error) of the proposed method is less than 20 meters over a traveled distance of five kilometers and the relative horizontal error is below 0.4 percent. [Termes IGN] système de numérisation mobileRésumé : (Auteur) Lidar sensors are widely used in mobile mapping systems. With recent developments, these sensors provide large volumes of data which are necessary for some applications that require a high level of detail. Multibeam lidar sensors can provide this level of detail, but need a specific calibration routine to provide the best precision possible. Because they have multiple beams, the calibration of such sensors is difficult and is not well represented in the literature. This work presents an automatic method for the optimisation of the calibration parameters of a multibeam lidar sensor mounted on a mobile platform. The proposed approach does not require any calibration target, and only uses information from the acquired point clouds, which makes it simple to use. The goal of the optimisation is to find calibration parameters that will improve the structure of the data. At the end of the automatic process, a confidence value is provided for the calibration parameters found.
