[Termes IGN] télédétectionRésumé : Cette étude approfondie de l'utilisation des données satellitaires Pléiades Neo dans la détection des dommages aux bâtiments, comparée aux données Pléiades-HR, s'est concentrée sur l'évaluation des performances de ces deux capteurs suite au séisme au Maroc en septembre 2023. Les résultats indiquent de manière concluante que la résolution spatiale supérieure des images Pléiades Neo améliore significativement l'interprétation du paysage et la détection des dommages dans les zones bâties. En particulier, ce gain en résolution a permis d'identifier 74% de bâtiments endommagés supplémentaires à Marrakech et de rectifier 24% et 11% de la classification des dommages, respectivement dans les secteurs de Marrakech et d'Imidal. L'étude souligne également la capacité de Pléiades Neo à détecter des détails du paysage urbain, comme les créneaux des remparts de la ville, offrant ainsi la possibilité de repérer des dommages sur d'autres objets ou infrastructures de taille équivalente, une capacité qui n'est pas aussi prononcée avec Pléiades-HR. Les résultats illustrent et confirment les avantages substantiels des données Pléiades Neo pour l'évaluation post-catastrophe, avec une précision accrue dans la détection et la caractérisation des dommages au bâti. L'importance de l'angle d'acquisition des images, mais également la complémentarité de Pléiades Neo par rapport à Pléiades-HR dans le contexte de la cartographie d'urgence, ont également été évoquées. Cette étude atteste des avantages des images Pléiades Neo par rapport à Pléiades-HR dans la gestion des dégâts au bâti suite à des événements catastrophiques. Résumé : (auteur) Remote sensing provides us with an approach for the rapid identification and monitoring of spatiotemporal changes in the urban ecological environment at different scales. This study aimed to construct a remote sensing assessment index for urban ecological livability with continuous fine spatiotemporal resolution data from Landsat and MODIS to overcome the dilemma of single image-based, single-factor analysis, due to the limitations of atmospheric conditions or the revisit period of satellite platforms. The proposed Ecological Livability Index (ELI) covers five primary ecological indicators – greenness, temperature, dryness, water-wetness, and atmospheric turbidity – which are geometrically aggregated by non-equal weights based on an entropy method. Considering multisource time-series data of each indicator, the ELI can quickly and comprehensively reflect the characteristics of the Ecological Livability Quality (ELQ) and is also comparable at different time scales. Based on the proposed ELI, the urban ecological livability in the central urban area of Wuhan, China, from 2002 to 2017, in the different seasons was analyzed every 5 years. The ELQ of Wuhan was found to be generally at the medium level (ELI ≈0.6) and showed an initial trend of degradation but then improved. Moreover, the ecological livability in spring and autumn and near rivers and lakes was found to be better, whereas urban expansion has led to the outward ecological degradation of Wuhan, but urban afforestation has enhanced the environment. In general, this paper demonstrates that the ELI has an exemplary embodiment in urban ecological research, which will support urban ecological protection planning and construction. [Termes IGN] température au solRésumé : (auteur) Urban vegetation is valuable in alleviating local heatwaves. However, drought may decrease vegetation health and limit this cooling effect. Here we use satellite-based Normalized Difference Vegetation Index (NDVI) and Palmer Drought Severity Index (PDSI) to investigate the sensitivity of urban vegetation to drought in Coastal Greater Los Angeles (CGLA) from 2001 to 2020. We applied four statistical models to analyze the relations between 15 socioeconomic variables and the vegetation's sensitivity to drought. We then examined the changes in the cooling effect of the urban vegetation during drought and non-drought periods using remotely sensed land surface temperature (LST) data. The results suggest that economically disadvantaged areas with higher proportions of Hispanics and Blacks are typified by vegetation more sensitive to drought, which is likely linked to inequality in water use. Moreover, these populations experience a lower degree of vegetation cooling effects and higher exposure to heatwaves. The findings of this study imply that the potential of a community's vegetation in mitigating heatwaves is significantly influenced by the socioeconomic conditions of the community. Increasing the resilience of urban vegetation to drought in disadvantaged communities may help promote environmentally sustainable and socially resilient cities under a warming climate. [Vedettes matières IGN] Inventaire forestierRésumé : (auteur) The contribution of forests to carbon storage and biodiversity conservation highlights the need for accurate forest height and biomass mapping and monitoring. In France, forests are managed mainly by private owners and divided into small stands, requiring 10 to 50 m spatial resolution data to be correctly separated. Further, 35 % of the French forest territory is covered by mountains and Mediterranean forests which are managed very extensively. In this work, we used a deep-learning model based on multi-stream remote sensing measurements (NASA’s GEDI LiDAR mission and ESA’s Copernicus Sentinel 1 & 2 satellites) to create a 10 m resolution canopy height map of France for 2020 (FORMS-H). In a second step, with allometric equations fitted to the French National Forest Inventory (NFI) plot data, we created a 30 m resolution above-ground biomass density (AGBD) map (Mg ha-1) of France (FORMS-B). Extensive validation was conducted. First, independent datasets from Airborne Laser Scanning (ALS) and NFI data from thousands of plots reveal a mean absolute error (MAE) of 2.94 m for FORMS-H, which outperforms existing canopy height models. Second, FORMS-B was validated using two independent forest inventory datasets from the Renecofor permanent forest plot network and from the GLORIE forest inventory with MAE of 59.6 Mg ha-1 and 19.6 Mg.ha-1 respectively, providing greater performance than other AGBD products sampled over France. These results highlight the importance of coupling remote sensing technologies with recent advances in computer science to bring material insights to climate-efficient forest management policies. Additionally, our approach is based on open-access data having global coverage and a high spatial and temporal resolution, making the maps reproducible and easily scalable. [Termes IGN] image RVBRésumé : (auteur) Modern image-based deblurring methods usually show degenerate performance in low-light conditions since the images often contain most of the poorly visible dark regions and a few saturated bright regions, making the amount of effective features that can be extracted for deblurring limited. In contrast, event cameras can trigger events with a very high dynamic range and low latency, which hardly suffer from saturation and naturally encode dense temporal information about motion. However, in low-light conditions existing event-based deblurring methods would become less robust since the events triggered in dark regions are often severely contaminated by noise, leading to inaccurate reconstruction of the corresponding intensity values. Besides, since they directly adopt the event-based double integral model to perform pixel-wise reconstruction, they can only handle low-resolution grayscale active pixel sensor images provided by the DAVIS camera, which cannot meet the requirement of daily photography. In this paper, to apply events to deblurring low-light images robustly, we propose a unified two-stage framework along with a motion-aware neural network tailored to it, reconstructing the sharp image under the guidance of high-fidelity motion clues extracted from events. Besides, we build an RGB-DAVIS hybrid camera system to demonstrate that our method has the ability to deblur high-resolution RGB images due to the natural advantages of our two-stage framework. Experimental results show our method achieves state-of-the-art performance on both synthetic and real-world images.
