[Termes IGN] transformation en ondelettesRésumé : (Auteur) Several different methods for the fusion of multispectral and panchromatic images based on the wavelet transform have been proposed. The majority provide satisfactory results, but there is one, the a trous algorithm, that presents several advantages over the other fusion methods. Its computation is very simple; it only involves elementary algebraic operations, such as products, differences and convolutions. It yields a better spatial and spectral quality than the other methods. Standard fusion methods do not allow control of the spatial and spectral quality of the fused image; high spectral quality implies low spatial quality and vice versa. This paper proposes a new version of a fusion method based on the wavelet transform, computed through the a trous algorithm, that permits customization of the trade-off between the spectral and spatial quality of the fused image through the evaluation of two quality indices: a spectral index (the ERGAS index) and a spatial one. For the latter, a new spatial index based on ERGAS concepts and translated to the spatial domain has been defined. In addition, several different schemes for the computation of the fusion method investigated have been evaluated to optimize the degradation level of the source image required to perform the fusion process. The performance of the proposed fusion method has been compared with the fusion methods based on wavelet Mallat and filtering in the Fourier domain. [Termes IGN] transformation intensité-teinte-saturationRésumé : (Auteur) The preservation of spectral characteristics and the retention of high spatial resolution are two key issues in image fusion. Different applications may require different balances between the two. However, the limitation is that only one fused result is possible for most of the commonly used fusion methods; users have no control over how much spatial detail or spectral information should be retained. Both quantitative and qualitative criteria, including mean, standard deviation, entropy, average gradient, spectral distortion, correlation coefficient and visual assessment, were used to evaluate the performance of the proposed fuser. A SPOT (Satellite Pour l'Observation de la Terre) panchromatic image and Landsat Thematic Mapper (TM) images were employed in the evaluation. The results show that the proposed method is slightly better than, or comparable to, commonly used image fusion methods, including Intensity-Hue-Saturation (IHS), principal component analysis (PCA), and two other wavelet-based fusion methods with replacement and with selection strategies, in terms of spectral characteristic preservation and high spatial resolution retention. Moreover, the proposed method can achieve a wide range of balances between spectral characteristic preservation and high spatial resolution retention, and thus is applicable in different applications. [Termes IGN] température de surfaceRésumé : (Auteur) According to the reflectance spectra of various materials, this paper mainly studies the relations between inherent features indicated by different combinations of characteristic spectral bands and surface temperature for five land surface cover types in the Shanghai area. On the basis of above-analysis results, we used the built optimum regression models to retrieve surface temperature, and then the precision and feasibility of the correlation method were evaluated. Results show that a clear and high correlativity exists between characteristic spectral bands and surface temperature. The maximum error is about 2.0 K by using correlation models to estimate urban land surface temperature, and main error of retrieved temperature results from mistakenly classification and existent mixture pixels. This indicates that characteristic spectral bands can be used as a modulating parameter for the estimation of surface temperature. [Termes IGN] système d'information géographiqueRésumé : (Auteur) Integrating multiple data sources is a very important strategy to obtain relevant solutions in geo-scientific analysis. This paper mainly deals with the integration of Geographical Information System (GIS) data, stereo aerial imagery and a Digital Surface Model (DSM) to extract wind erosion obstacles (namely tree rows and hedges) in open landscapes. Different approaches, such as image segmentation, edge extraction, linking, grouping and 3-dimensional verification with the DSM, are combined to extract the objects of interest. Experiments show that most wind erosion obstacles can be successfully extracted by the developed system.
