[Termes IGN] transformation de FourierIndex. décimale : THESE Thèses et HDR Résumé : (auteur) L'étude des changements de la biosphère terrestre nécessite un suivi continuel de la végétation. La télédétection est le seul moyen qui permette une mesure fréquente de son état global. Le but de ce travail est de définir une méthodologie pour le suivi de la végétation à partir de mesures de télédétection pour permettre à terme d'extraire des caractéristiques dynamiques de fonctionnement du couvert à l'échelle globale à partir de modèles écologiques. Le principe de la méthode proposée consiste à comparer l'évolution d'une observation à un ensemble de modèles prédictifs représentatifs des divers types de couverts auxquels l'observation est susceptible d'appartenir. La modélisation du signal d'évolution radiométrique est basée sur la notion de modèles de Markov caches. On montrera alors un exemple d'applications de cette méthode pour la caractérisation du cycle végétatif des savanes d’Afrique de l'ouest. On cherchera ensuite à relier la réponse du couvert à ces conditions d'environnement. On utilise pour ce faire des mesures sur les conditions d'environnement auxquelles le couvert a été soumis et la connaissance éventuellement qualitative des écologistes sur les modèles de fonctionnement même si celle-ci n'est qu'incomplète. On verra une application de cette démarche à la cartographie du couvert en Afrique de l'ouest à l'aide d'un modèle simplifié reliant la pluviométrie à l'activité chlorophyllienne.
