[Termes IGN] Wuhan (Chine)Résumé : (auteur) China is facing the pressures of both rapid economic development and environmental protection, and land-use allocation optimization is an important way to manage the conflicts between these pressures and to achieve sustainable development. Optimization of land-use allocation is a nonlinear multiobjective spatial optimization problem, and a purely local simulation model or global optimization model is insufficient to solve it. It is essential to bridge the gap between the two models through the combination of top-down and bottom-up approaches. This study integrates a multiagent system (MAS) that simulates the behaviors of land-use stakeholders with regard to their choices of specific locations, with a genetic algorithm (GA) that simultaneously evaluates and optimizes land-use configurations to meet various regional development objectives. The model is expected to achieve the optimization of land use in terms of the composition and spatial configuration. Caidian District, Wuhan, China, was chosen as the study area to test the model in this paper. The results show that the performance of the coupled model is superior to a pure GA model or MAS model. The optimal configuration improves on the economic output, spatial compactness, and carbon storage of the current configuration and promotes sustainable regional land-use development from the local scale to the regional scale. [Termes IGN] optimisation par colonie de fourmisRésumé : (Auteur) Conventional methods have difficulties in forming optimal paths when raster data are used and multi-objectives are involved. This paper presents a new method of using ant colony optimization (ACO) for solving optimal path-covering problems on unstructured raster surfaces. The novelty of this proposed ACO includes the incorporation of a couple of distinct features which are not present in classical ACO. A new component, the direction function, is used to represent the 'visibility' in the path exploration. This function is to guide an ant walking toward the final destination more efficiently. Moreover, a utility function is proposed to reflect the multi-objectives in planning applications. Experiments have shown that classical ACO cannot be used to solve this type of path optimization problems. The proposed ACO model can generate near optimal solutions by using hypothetical data in which the optimal solutions are known. This model can also find the near optimal solutions for the real data set with a good convergence rate. It can yield much higher utility values compared with other common conventional models. [Termes IGN] quantité discrèteRésumé : (Auteur) This article reviews the formation of the 3-D Douglas-Peucker algorithm on the basis of analyzing the nature of the 2-D algorithm and further studies the application of the 3-D method to the automated global generalization of digital elevation model (DEM). Compared to the general 3-D Douglas-Peucker algorithm put forward by the authors in the previous publication, further improvements and expansion of the algorithm have been included in this article, namely, (1) for randomly distributed points, 'loneliness index' of the current point has been taken as the dynamic weight factor of the point-plane distance, so as to improve the selection of the feature points; (2) aiming at the mass volume of the regular square grids, which forms the majority of the DEM data; three measures have been suggested in this article for the improvement of the efficiency of the automated generalization. Experiments have proven that these measures can greatly heighten the efficiency of the DEM generalization with satisfactory results and have offered us the practical possibility of on-the-fly global generalization of DEM with a huge volume of data. [Termes IGN] siteRésumé : (Auteur) This paper presents a new method to solve site selection problems using ant colony optimization (ACO) techniques. Optimal spatial search for siting public facilities is a common task for urban planning. The objective is to find N optimal sites (targets) for sitting a facility so that the total benefits are maximized or the total costs are minimized. It is straightforward to use the brute-force method for identifying the optimal solution by enumerating all possible combinations. However, the brute-force method has difficulty in solving complex spatial search problems because of a huge solution space. Ant colony optimization can provide a useful tool for site selection. In this study, the integration of ACO with geographic information systems is proposed to include various types of spatial variables in the optimization. A number of modifications have also been introduced so that ACO can fit spatial allocation problems. The novelty of this research includes the adoption of the strategies of neighborhood pheromone diffusion, tabu table adjusting, and multi-scale optimization. This method has been applied to the allocation of a hypothetical facility in Guangzhou City, China. The experiment indicates that the proposed model has better performance than the single search and the genetic algorithm for solving common site search problems.
