[Termes IGN] SIG temporelRésumé : (Auteur) Due to the increasing volume of spatio-temporal data generated from remote sensing, sensor networks and computational simulation, there is a need for a generic, domain-independent framework for spatio-temporal data analysis. This research presents a generic set of data processing and manipulation tools for spatio-temporal raster data called multidimensional map algebra (MMA). MMA is an extension of conventional map algebra that operates not only on data that are two-dimensional in space but also on data that are: (1) one-dimensional in time; (2) both two-dimensional in space and one-dimensional in time; (3) three-dimensional in space; and (4) both three-dimensional in space and one-dimensional in time. MMA data types, neighborhoods, lags, and functions are presented, including rules for combining data types of different dimensionality within local, focal, and zonal functions. A prototype implementation in JAVA is provided as a demonstration and syntax specification for the functions. Challenges to continued development of MMA include performance and efficiency issues for processing very large multidimensional data sets. Elaborate the theoretical concepts and methodologies needed for performing fast and automated QA/QC of ALS data. This embraces the definition of a methodology to automatically assess the quality of laser measurements and to evaluate the point-cloud coverage and homogeneity. A further objective is to establish a concept to assess the accuracy of derived surface models. 2. Implement the theoretical concepts in a fully functional in-flight QA/QC tool embedded in an ALS system. This requires merging data streams from different technologies (i.e. inertial navigation, GNSS positioning, laser measurements) in real-time (RT), developing its qualitative evaluation and presenting it to the system operator. 3. Provide a thorough analysis of the system performance using data acquired under real operating conditions. The objective is to demonstrate the usefulness of the provided QC information in-flight and to determine the achievable accuracies for ALS data processed in-flight. A particular attention is payed to the evaluations of benefits using real-time Kinematics (RTK) for improving the accuracy of the RT navigation, point-cloud generation and derivation of quality metrics. [Termes IGN] service web sémantiqueRésumé : (Auteur) In a Web service-based distributed environment, individual services must be chained together dynamically to solve a complex real world problem. The Semantic Web Service has shown promise for automatic chaining of Web services. This paper addresses semi-automatic geospatial service chaining through Semantic Web Services-based process planning. Process planning includes three phases: process modeling, process model instantiation and workflow execution. Ontologies and Artificial Intelligence (AI) planning methods are employed in process planning to help a user dynamically create an executable workflow for earth science applications. In particular, the approach was implemented in a common data and service environment enabled by interoperable standards from OGC and W3C. A case study of the chaining process for wildfire prediction illustrates the applicability of this approach.
