[Termes IGN] visibilitéRésumé : (Auteur) When a car drives in mountainous regions, the views based on conventional perspective projection often suffer from features of interest being occluded. We propose a method for generating disocclusion views in mountainous regions. The terrain is segmented to build a potential set of occluders; and then an optimized viewpoint is determined, and elevations are rearranged. To obtain a smooth deformed terrain, a smooth displacement function is introduced to deform the level-of-detail terrain models. Compared with previous methods, the merit of this study lies in automatically generating disocclusion views with temporal coherence while keeping the details of the deformed terrain the same as the original terrain. Experiments performed on the 4098 pixel x 4098 pixel mountainous terrain landscape prove that the disocclusion views can achieve 42 to 58 frames/second. Moreover, the shapes of the features of interest on the driving route without occlusion and the spatial configuration of geographical landmarks in its neighborhood can be easily recognized. [Termes IGN] surveillance d'ouvrageRésumé : (Auteur) Shanghai maglev is a very fast traffic tool, so it is very strict with the stability of the roadbed. However, the ground subsidence is a problem in Shanghai because of the poor geological condition and human-induced factors. So it is necessary to monitor ground subsidence in the area along the Shanghai maglev precisely and frequently. Traditionally, a precise levelling method is used to survey along the track. It is expensive and time consuming, and can only get the ground subsidence information on sparse benchmarks. Recently, the small baseline differential SAR technique plays a valuable part in monitoring ground subsidence, which can extract ground subsidence information with high spatial resolution in a wide area. In this paper, L-band ALOS PALSAR data and C-band Envisat ASAR data are used to extract ground subsidence information using the SBAS method in the Shanghai maglev area. The results show that the general pattern of ground subsidence from InSAR processing of two differential bands of SAR images is similar. Both results show that there is no significant ground subsidence on the maglev line. Near the railway line, there are a few places with subsidence rates at about -20 mm/y or even more, such as Chuansha town, the junction of the maglev and Waihuan road. [Termes IGN] intersection spatialeRésumé : (Auteur) Although modern imagery usually has latitude and longitude or similar coordinates to provide true world location, much potentially useful imagery lacks this information. This includes historical imagery, as well as modern imagery that may have lost its locational information through inappropriate processing. Its provision through the process of georeferencing is still primarily a manual procedure. This paper proposes an efficient, fully- automated solution for massively asymmetric image-to-vector georeferencing whereby an image of a relatively small geographic area is automatically located relative to a substantially larger vector map base. For control points, road intersections are automatically extracted from high resolution aerial or satellite imagery using the new concepts of reference circles and central pixels. For automated control point pair identification between image and vector map, an invariant point pattern matching approach is proposed based on shape invariance for similarity transforms and invariant area ratios for affine transforms. The matching algorithm necessitates only a small subset of image points and requires no additional information beyond pixel and map coordinates. Further, it tolerates inaccurate, missing and spurious points, and provides high performance with linear scalability. A final step performs transformation verification, globalization and optimization based upon an Iterative Closest Point Greedy algorithm. Experimentation shows that images covering a few city blocks with as few as 6 to 17 extracted road intersection points can be efficiently and correctly located using the road network of Dallas County, Texas, with over 80,000 intersections. [Termes IGN] SIG 3DRésumé : (Auteur) The development of a Geographic Information System (GIS) needs to import 3D solid elements created in three dimensions. The acquisition of these data is done, in most cases, by using a LIDAR (Light Detection and Ranging). Another possibility is the use of mobile mapping, integrated GNSS and inertial system (IMU). Subsequently, we conducted a thorough editing job. Certainly, if the scale of the project is larger, the amount of detail is greater and hence the cost and time of acquisition will be higher. Thus, the development of a GIS project for 3D applications, such as for the area of power distribution is still impractical for use in Brazil due to the high cost of 3D acquisition. Thus, to make the use of these tools in 3D GIS environment feasible an alternative methodology for cost reduction was developed. The alternative presented here was the use of an existing collection of photos, in this case refering to coverage on the scale 1:8000. Additionally, it used the 1: 2000 base map and a high resolution image from the QuickBird satellite (used as a backdrop and applied as texture in digital terrain model). On developing the project, we used the Opensource software, complete VTP (Virtual Terrain Project), including the libraries OGR, GDAL and vtdata vtlib compatible with MFC (Microsoft Foundation Class), GDI + (Graphics Device Interface Plus), and the database PostgreSQL (free database). 3D data modeling was done in order to reduce costs for an application to electricity distribution. Finally, we performed an analysis of the relative positional quality, and obtained satisfactory quantitative results, as presented in the text below. [Termes IGN] tunnelRésumé : (Auteur) Synthetic Aperture Radar Interferometry (InSAR) is an alternative technique to obtain measurements of surface displacement providing better spatial resolution and comparable accuracy at an extremely lower cost per area than conventional surveying methods. InSAR is becoming more and more popular in monitoring urban deformations, however, the technique requires advanced tools and high level competence to be successfully applied. In this paper we report important results obtained by analyzing new high resolution SAR data in the Shanghai urban area. The data used in this work have been acquired by the Italian X-band sensor Cosmo-SkyMed. About 1.2 million of individual and independent targets have been detected in 600 sq km, revealing impressive details of the ground surface deformation. Using the SARPROZ InSAR tool and integrating the results with Google Earth, we were able to track subway tunnels recently excavated and several highways. Tunnels are visible due to very localized subsidence of the above surface along their path. On the other hand, highways, standing over the ground, in most cases show higher stability than the surrounding areas. The density of targets is so high to allow studying the profile of the tunnel subsidence, which is very useful to predict building damage. Finally, the identification of targets on high buildings helps checking the stability of high constructions along the subway lines, highlighting possible risky situations.
