Note de contenu : 1- Introduction

In France, defining existing habitat patches and corridors was ensured in a distributed manner by the Regions, the first subnational administrative level, with flexible guidelines. It resulted in very heterogeneous data in terms of level of detail, raising the question: “How to map such heterogeneous data at a supra-regional level, making them understandable while respecting the work of Regions, and with a reasonable amount of human work?”. Our study focuses on habitat patches of two adjacent Regions. After making a “rough” map directly from the provided data, we explore three ways for homogenizing the map. The first method consists in generalizing the more detailed data using simple morphologic operators. The second method consists in graphically refining the less detailed data by filling the areas with a pattern taken from the more detailed data. The third method consists in drastically changing the level of abstraction of the data on both regions, while rasterizing the space. Although it would be necessary to test the resulting maps on potential users, we think the third approach is probably the only one usable. [Termes IGN] réseau routierRésumé : (auteur) The aim of mining spatial co-location patterns is to find the corresponding subsets of spatial features that have strong spatial correlation in the real world. This is an important technology for the extraction and comprehension of implicit knowledge in large spatial databases. However, existing methods of co-location mining consider events as taking place in a homogeneous and isotropic context in Euclidean space, whereas the physical movement in an urban space is usually constrained by a road network. Furthermore, previous works do not take the ‘distance decay effect’ of spatial interactions into account, which may reduce the effectiveness of the result. Here we propose an improved spatial co-location pattern mining method, including the network-constrained neighborhood and addition of a distance-decay function, to find the spatial dependence between network phenomena (e.g. urban facilities). The underlying idea is to utilize a model function in the interest measure calculation to weight the contribution of a co-location to the overall interest measure instance inversely proportional to the separation distance. Our approach was evaluated through extensive experiments using facility points-of-interest data sets. The results show that the network-constrained approach is a more effective method than the traditional one in network-structured space. The proposed approach can also be applied to other human activities (e.g. traffic accidents) constrained by a street network. [Termes IGN] segmentation d'imageRésumé : (Auteur) We present in this article a new method on unsupervised semantic parsing and structure recognition in peri-urban areas using satellite images. The automatic “building” and “road” detection is based on regions extracted by an unsupervised segmentation method. We propose a novel segmentation algorithm based on a Markov random field model and we give an extensive data analysis for determining relevant features for the classification problem. The novelty of the segmentation algorithm lies on the class-driven vector data quantization and clustering and the estimation of the likelihoods given the resulting clusters. We have evaluated the reachability of a good classification rate using the Random Forest method. We found that, with a limited number of features, among them some new defined in this article, we can obtain good classification performance. Our main contribution lies again on the data analysis and the estimation of likelihoods. Finally, we propose a new method for completing the road network exploiting its connectivity, and the local and global properties of the road network.
