[Termes IGN] squelettisationRésumé : (Auteur) Crowdsourcing geospatial data mainly collected by public citizens have brought about a profound transformation on data acquisition and utilization. However, the unpredictable positional accuracies, unstructured semantic descriptions, and invalid spatial relations occur to crowdsourcing geospatial data, causing difficulties for conflating heterogeneous data sets collected by different professional agencies or volunteers. We thus propose a novel pattern-mining approach to conflate crowdsourcing road networks with points of interest (POIs) geometrically and semantically. The proposed method mines the geometric patterns between road networks and POIs respectively and generates the pattern-related skeleton graphs for them. Then, corresponding points are determined between the two skeleton graphs to align POIs and road networks geometrically, and the road-related semantic data between the associated POIs and the road segments are compared to check the data quality of POIs and infer the road names of the road segments. Experimental results show the advantages of our proposed method, demonstrating a functional and promising solution for enriching POIs and road network geometrically and semantically. [Vedettes matières IGN] GénéralisationRésumé : (Auteur) Mapping drinking water flow is a real challenge not only to detect water leaks but also to control the quality of the water. In France, 900,000 km of water pipe serves 99% of the population. A recent law imposes the mapping of these pipelines on a known geographical system with a planar positional accuracy from 0.4 to 1.5 m according to the age and type of the pipeline. Wireless sensors and models based on computational fluid mechanics (CFD) allow to study flow and to reconstruct parameters such as velocity, pressure and a chemical concentration at each point. This information can be used to detect leaks and to control the concentration of chlorine or other chemical products. However, this information is not easy to map on GIS due to the small width of water pipe and the very high quantity of points necessary for data flow computation. In this research work, we propose solutions to map this information at different levels of detail with other information such as roads and buildings. We first propose to use area symbols instead of punctual symbols to improve zoom-in visual effects. We also propose to generalize initial water data for zoom-out processes. We use the axis of the water pipe as basic geometry and we segment it. We then compute a generalized value of pressure, velocity or chemical concentration for each segment with specific function adapted to the property we wish to study. We propose a conceptual data schema that describes the required information to map this data at different levels of detail. The solution has been fully implemented on experimental data and illustrated by means of a dedicated web mapping that proposes a set of GIS functions such as the selection of the data, zooming functions but also the animation to see the propagation of a chemical product in the water pipe. [Termes IGN] vectorisationRésumé : (auteur) Many devices nowadays record traveled routes as sequences of GPS locations. With the growing popularity of smartphones, millions of such routes are generated each day, and many routes have to be stored locally on the device or transmitted to a remote database. It is, thus, essential to encode the sequences, in order to decrease the volume of the stored or transmitted data. In this paper we study the problem of encoding routes over a vectorial road network (map), where GPS locations can be associated with vertices or with road segments. We consider a three-step process of dilution, map-matching and coding, which helps reducing the amount of transmitted data between the cellular device and remote servers. We present two methods to code routes. The first method represents the given route as a sequence of greedy paths. We provide two algorithms to generate a greedy-path code for a sequence of n vertices on the map. The first algorithm has O(n) time complexity, and the second one has O(n 2) time complexity, but it is optimal, meaning that it generates the shortest possible greedy-path code. Decoding a greedy-path code can be done in O(n) time. The second method encodes a route as a sequence of shortest paths. We provide algorithms to generate unidirectional and bidirectional optimal shortest-path codes. Encoding and decoding a shortest-path code can be done in O(k n 2 logn) time, where k is the length of the produced code, assuming the graph valency is bounded. Our experimental evaluation shows that shortest-path codes are more compact than greedy-path codes, justifying the larger time complexity. [Termes IGN] télémétrie laser mobileRésumé : (Auteur) Road roughness is the deviation of a road surface from a designed surface grade that influences safety conditions for road users. Mobile laser scanning (MLS) systems provide a rapid, continuous and cost-effective way of collecting highly accurate and dense 3D point-cloud data along a route corridor. In this paper an algorithm for the automated estimation of road roughness from MLS data is presented, where a surface grid is fitted to the lidar points associated with the road surface. The elevation difference between the lidar points and their surface grid equivalents provides residual values in height which can be used to estimate roughness along the road surface. Tests validated the new road-roughness algorithm by successfully estimating surface conditions on multiple road sections. These findings contribute to a more comprehensive approach to surveying road networks.
