[Termes IGN] superposition d'imagesRésumé : (auteur) The problem of edge detection plays a crucial role in almost all research areas of image processing. If edges are detected accurately, one can detect the location of objects and the parameters such as shape and area can be measured more precisely. In order to overcome the above problem, a feature-based image registration (FBIR) method in combination with an improved version of canny with fuzzy logic is proposed for accurate detection of edges. The major contributions of the present work are summarized in three steps. In the first step, a restoration-based enhancement algorithm is proposed to get a fine image from a distorted noisy image. In the second step, two versions of input images are registered using a modified FBIR approach. In the third step, to overcome the drawback of canny edge detection algorithm, each step of the algorithm is modified. The output is then fed to a “fuzzy inference system”. The “fuzzy rule-based technique”, when applied to the problem of “edge detection”, is very “efficient” because the thickness of the edges can be controlled by simply changing “rules and output parameters”. The domain of the images under consideration is various well-known image databases such as Berkeley and USC-SIPI databases, whereas the proposed method is also suitable for other types of both indoor and outdoor images. The robustness of the proposed method is analysed, compared and evaluated with seven image assessment quality (IAQ) parameters. The performance of the proposed method is compared with some of the state-of-the-art edge detection methods in terms of the seven IAQ parameters. [Termes IGN] zone urbaine denseRésumé : (auteur) Changes in land-use and land-cover (LULC) in urban areas affect the natural environment, especially urban green spaces (UGS). The present study examines the loss of UGS due to LULC transformation at different periods to predict the future vulnerable zone of UGS, based on the 'Pressure-State-Response’ framework. To calculate the weight of each factor, a combined Analytical Hierarchical Process and Fuzzy Comprehensive Evaluation method have been used. An integrated multilayer perceptron based artificial neural network and Markov chain (MLP-ANN-MC) model has been employed to predict the UGS vulnerable area in Kolkata. Results indicated that growth rates of built-up area, land-use dynamic degree, change intensity index, and proximity factors are the major responsible for UGS vulnerability. Applying the MLP-ANN-MC model, future vulnerable zones were identified for management and conservation of UGS. The methodology developed and demonstrated in this study expands LULC change analysis and provide a new dimension for UGS vulnerability assessment. [Termes IGN] segmentation sémantiqueRésumé : (auteur) In this paper, we propose to train binarized convolutional neural networks (CNNs) that are of significant importance for deploying deep learning to mobile devices with limited power capacity and computing resources. Previous works on quantizing CNNs often seek to approximate the floating-point information of weights and/or activations using a set of discrete values. Such methods, termed value approximation here, typically are built on the same network architecture of the full-precision counterpart. Instead, we take a new “structured approximation” view for network quantization — it is possible and valuable to exploit flexible architecture transformation when learning low-bit networks, which can achieve even better performance than the original networks in some cases. In particular, we propose a “group decomposition” strategy, termed GroupNet, which divides a network into desired groups. Interestingly, with our GroupNet strategy, each full-precision group can be effectively reconstructed by aggregating a set of homogeneous binary branches. We also propose to learn effective connections among groups to improve the representation capability. To improve the model capacity, we propose to dynamically execute sparse binary branches conditioned on input features while preserving the computational cost. More importantly, the proposed GroupNet shows strong flexibility for a few vision tasks. For instance, we extend the GroupNet for accurate semantic segmentation by embedding the rich context into the binary structure. The proposed GroupNet also shows strong performance on object detection. Experiments on image classification, semantic segmentation, and object detection tasks demonstrate the superior performance of the proposed methods over various quantized networks in the literature. Moreover, the speedup and runtime memory cost evaluation comparing with related quantization strategies is analyzed on GPU platforms, which serves as a strong benchmark for further research. In this study, ASTER data were used to identify the alteration events in this region. For this purpose, a novel approach was used in which the fuzzy logic was implemented to extract the co-occurrence map of the endmembers. This method revealed alterations more accurately than SID. Stream sediment samples were employed to validate the obtained results. Since these samples are alluvial, their catchment basins were determined and overlaid with the alteration maps. To the best of the authors’ knowledge, this validation approach has not been used in previous studies. The extracted alteration zones were in high conformity to the stream sediment samples. Next, X-ray diffraction (XRD) analysis and field spectrometry were used for delineation of the mineralogical phases present in the anomalous areas. Finally, the potential gold mineralization zones were identified. [Termes IGN] voxelRésumé : (auteur) Automated change detection based on urban mobile laser scanning data is the foundation for a whole range of applications such as building model updates, map generation for autonomous driving and natural disaster assessment. The challenge with mobile LiDAR data is that various sources of error, such as localization errors, lead to uncertainties and contradictions in the derived information. This paper presents an approach to automatic change detection using a new category of generic evidence grids that addresses the above problems. Said technique, referred to as fuzzy spatial reasoning, solves common problems of state-of-the-art evidence grids and also provides a method of inference utilizing fuzzy Boolean reasoning. Based on this, logical operations are used to determine changes and combine them with semantic information. A quantitative evaluation based on a hand-annotated version of the TUM-MLS data set shows that the proposed method is able to identify confirmed and changed elements of the environment with F1-scores of 0.93 and 0.89.
