[Termes IGN] voisinage (relation topologique)Résumé : (Auteur) The present paper examines whether the formal topological characterisation of spatial relations between moving geographic regions provides an adequate basis for the human conceptualisation of motion events for those regions. The paper focuses on gradual changes in topological relationships caused by continuous transformations of the regions (specifically, translations). Using a series of experiments, the conceptualisation and perception of conceptual neighborhoods is investigated. In particular, the role of conceptual neighborhoods in characterising motion events is scrutinised. The experiments employ a grouping paradigm and a custom-made tool for presenting animated icons. The analysis examines whether paths through a conceptual neighborhood graph sufficiently characterise the conceptualisation of the movement of two regions. The results of the experiments show that changes in topological relations—as detailed by paths through a conceptual neighborhood graph—are not sufficient to characterise the cognitive conceptualisation of moving regions. The similarity ratings show clear effects of perceptually and conceptually induced groupings such as identity (which region is moving), reference (whether a larger or a smaller region is moving), and dynamics (whether both regions are moving at the same time). [Termes IGN] théorie de Dempster-ShaferRésumé : (Auteur) Nowadays, it is often that a geographic area is described by several independent geographic databases. Yet users need to fusion various information coming from these databases. In order to integrate databases, redundancy and inconsistency between data should be identified. Many steps are required to finalise the databases integration, in particular automatic data matching. In this paper, one approach of matching geographic data bearing on the belief theory is presented. This approach consists in combining criteria from knowledge such as geometry, orientation, nature of roads, names and topology. Then it is tested on heterogeneous network representing roads. [Termes IGN] voisinage (relation topologique)Résumé : (Auteur) The research presented in this paper introduces a relative representation of trajectories in space and time. The objective is to represent space the way it is perceived by a moving observer acting in the environment, and to provide a complementary view to the usual absolute vision of space. Trajectories are characterized from the perception of a moving observer where relative positions and relative velocities are the basic primitives. This allows for a formal identification of elementary trajectory configurations, and their relationships with the regions that compose the environment. The properties of the model are studied, including transitions and composition tables. These properties characterize trajectory transitions by the underlying processes that semantically qualify them. The approach provides a representation that might help the understanding of trajectory patterns space and time. [Termes IGN] relation topologiqueRésumé : (Auteur) In the process of topographic map updating, spatial conflicts (inconsistency) between rivers and contours may be created. This project studies the particularity and complexity of the relationships between rivers and contours, and develops a method for automatic detection of the spatial conflicts between them. This method consists of a refined descriptive spatial model (called a topological chain), an algorithm for the computation of spatial relations, and a set of rules for the determination of spatial conflicts. In the spatial relation model, the topological relationships, order relationships, and metric relationships are integrated to describe the line-line spatial relationships. The rules are derived from the natural relations between rivers and contours in the real world. The effectiveness of this method has been verified by using the national 1:50 000 topographic map databases. An accuracy of 91% has been achieved.
