[Termes IGN] télédétection aérienneRésumé : (Auteur) Authors from a leading Chinese university describe how reflected GNSS signals can be used in sea-wind retrieval, seawater salinity detection, ice-layer density measurement and other remote sensing applications. They introduce the GNSS-R concept, demonstrate the characteristics of the GPS reflected signal, and describe their data-processing method for exploiting the reflected signals. The article includes test results from field trials gathering data over maritime and grassland areas. [Termes IGN] signal GNSSRésumé : (Auteur) Almost all GNSS navigation signals operate in the crowded L-band portion of the radio frequency spectrum. In the past, C-band spectrum has been considered — and rejected — for GNSS services due to a couple of substantial obstacles, despite some distinct technical advantages. However, continued proliferation of signals in L-band and advances in electronics and spacecraft technologies have prompted a new look at C-band for future GNSS services. This article is the second of a two-part series describing the results of a new European Space Agency–sponsored study on the subject. [Termes IGN] système d'information géographiqueRésumé : (Auteur) Daily solar radiation estimates of four up-to-date solar radiation models (Solar Analyst, r.sun, SRAD and Solei-32), based on a digital elevation model (DEM), have been evaluated and compared in a Mediterranean environment characterized by a complex topography. The models' estimates were evaluated against 40 days of radiometric data collected in 14 stations. Analyzed sky conditions ranged from completely overcast conditions to clear skies. Additionally, the role of the spatial resolution of the DEM has been evaluated through the use of two different resolutions: 20 and 100 m. Results showed that, under clear-sky conditions, the daily solar radiation variability in the study area may be reasonably estimated with mean bias errors under 10% and root mean square error values of around 15%. On the other hand, results proved that the reliability of the estimates substantially decreases under overcast conditions for some of the solar radiation models. Regarding the role of the DEM spatial resolution, results suggested that the reliability of the estimates for complex topography areas under clear-sky conditions improves using a higher spatial resolution. [Termes IGN] signal GNSSRésumé : (Auteur) Because satellite designers cannot precisely eliminate small variations in delays among the various signal paths within the spacecraft, GPS signals don’t emerge from the satellite antennas at exactly the same time or from the same location. If not accounted for, these delay offsets would produce navigation fix errors for GPS users. In this article, the authors derive and explain the modernized ionosphere dual- and single-frequency correction algorithms that will resolve these inter-signal variations. They also explain how to modernize any new algorithm, how a single ephemeris models the satellite location when each L-band signal may have separate departure points, and why that one ephemeris might point to a location behind the satellite. [Termes IGN] processus ponctuel marquéRésumé : (Auteur) In this study, we propose an automatic detection algorithm for cloud/shadow on remote sensing optical images. It is based on physical properties of clouds and shadows, namely for a cloud and its associated shadow: both are connex objects of similar shape and area, and they are related by their relative locations. We show that these properties can be formalized using Markov Random Field (MRF) framework at two levels: one MRF over the pixel graph for connexity modelling, and one MRF over the graph of objects (clouds and shadows) for their relationship modelling. Then, we show that, practically, having performed an image pre-processing step (channel inter-calibration) specific to cloud detection, the local optimization of the proposed MRF models leads to a rather simple image processing algorithm involving only six parameters. Using a 39 image database, performance is shown and discussed, in particular in comparison with the Marked Point Process approach.
