Therefore the differences must be considered as functions of exterior causes, especially of active vertical movements. Also in Bavaria the renewal of the first precise levellings disclosed remarkable deviations from the former results in some districts. The analysis pointed to vast uplifts and subsidences. After the completion of the new Bavarian first order levelling net a further independent comparison was possible. The new differences seldom coincide with the corresponding former deviations. The interpretation as effect of vertical movements is rather unsufficient. For this reason the range of uncertainty, caused by the errors of the measurements, especially of the older ones, was intensively studied. The results can be summarized as follows:
a) Since the scale in the older nets rather fluctuates, the differences at the identical points were used for fitting adjustments, by which not only the best position of the datum, but also the mean deviation of the scale was calculated. The scale especially of the renewed net was found to be unsufficient , thus parts of the discrepancies between the older and the new comparisons could be explained by this peculiarity implying a considerable reduction of a great number of differences.
b) The expected mean dispersion of the differences between two levellings was estimated for larger distances (about 200 km) and for an average line length (50 km). The values are based on errors of the net traverses respectively on errors from the net adjustments. Both calculations agree rather well. Nearly all available differences fall short of the maximum errors, calculated in this way ; therefore they are to be explained with regard to their magnitude from the levelling errors.
c) Differences near the maximum errors, however, appear more than once and at point groups thus being contradictory to the theoretic behaviour of errors. Therefore the frequency and the distribution of differences between former and recent levellings were studied thoroughly starting from the close correlation of the observations along the lines, and from the computation method. Furthermore the solidity of the used nets was critically considered as function of the density and of the figure of the loops, also the small advantage of the adjustments by nets of low solidity was pointed out. The considerations disclosed, that the changes of hights along the lines chiefly arise from the semi-systematic effect of levelling errors, and that, inspite of the adjustments, the changes of hights on knodal points continue to be individual events according to the theory of probabilities, essentially characterized by their specific errors. Regarding the prevailing points along the lines a distribution of the differences corresponding to the error theory does not at all seem probable, but much more sectional or regional systematics will be the rule. Moreover, especially in nets of low density, a deformation of single net parts is not impossible.
d) Finally a discussion of the available changes of hights in the net of the Bavarian precise levellings was carried out based on the previous delibera-tions. Hence it followed, that we may suppose active movements only within two limited districts: A subsidence of about 0,5 mm p.a. in the district Regensburg - Passau with a progressive tendency towards east, and a possible uplift with an intensity of about 0,5 mm p.a. in the western Swabia; the values are rounded off to 0,5 mm p.a.Numéro de notice : 28259 Affiliation des auteurs : non IGN Thématique : POSITIONNEMENT Nature : Monographie Permalink : https://documentation.ensg.eu/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=63602 Exemplaires(1)

[Termes IGN] République fédérale d'AllemagneIndex. décimale : 30.50 Nivellement - généralités Résumé : (Auteur) The 1st order levelling net of German Federal Republic has been established in several steps; its start had been in the north in 1910, then it was extended to larger districts between 1920 and 1940, and finished in the south between 1948 and 1960. The older parts, meanwhile obsolete, were relevelled after 1948 in such an extension, that they could be connected to the new lines of Southern Germany. In this way a new unified levelling net arose, named ,,Net 1960" and measured with the exception of a few lines from 1948 to 1963, and adjusted in 1964/65. According to comparisons of new and former hights of the knodal points in the northern part of the net there is supposed, that in the mean time the district of the Elbe has sunk rather homogeneously for about 20 to 25 mm, and the Rhineland south of Cologne has risen for about 15 to 25 mm against the area between Lingen - Hameln - Kassel. By the discrepancies of the loops, and by various studies, and by the mean error of the levelling traverses the mean error of the changes of the hights between the Elbe and the Rhine was found to be + 11 mm. As the differences are larger than their errors and rather in accordance with the main geological conditions, following movements against the district of the upper Weser seem to be possiblei Sinking of the Elbe-Urstromtal (district of the Elbe) ~ 0,5 mm p.a.; Elevation of the western part of the Rheinischer Block (Rhineland south of Cologne) ~ 0,8 mm p.a.
