In the last decade, numerous satellite remote sensing missions have been launched (Sentinel-1, UAVSAR, TerraSAR X, etc.). This resulted in a dramatic improvement in the Earth image acquisition capability and accessibility. The growing number of observation systems allows now to build high temporal/spatial-resolution Earth surface images data-sets. This new scenario significantly raises the interest in time-series processing to monitor changes occurring over large areas. However, developing new algorithms to process such a huge volume of data represents a current challenge. In this context, the present thesis aims at developing methodologies for change detection in high-resolution SAR image time series. These series raise two notable challenges that have to be overcome:On the one hand, standard statistical methods rely on multivariate data to infer a result which is often superior to a monovariate approach. Such multivariate data is however not always available when it concerns SAR images. To tackle this issue, new methodologies based on wavelet decomposition theory have been developed to fetch information based on the physical behavior of the scatterers present in the scene. On the other hand, the improvement in resolution obtained from the latest generation of sensors comes with an increased heterogeneity of the data obtained. For this setup, the standard Gaussian assumption used to develop classic change detection methodologies is no longer valid. As a consequence, new robust methodologies have been developed considering the family of elliptical distributions which have been shown to better fit the observed data. The association of both aspects has shown promising results in change detection applications. [Termes IGN] vitesseRésumé : (Auteur) To support precise orbit determination of the altimetry missions, the International DORIS Service (IDS) regularly estimates the DPOD (DORIS terrestrial reference frame for Precise Orbit Determination) solution which includes mean positions and velocities of all the DORIS stations. This solution is aligned to the current realization of the International Terrestrial Reference Frame (ITRF) and so, can be seen as a DORIS extension of the ITRF. In 2016, moving to the IDS Combination Center, the DPOD construction scheme changed. The new DPOD solution is produced from a DORIS cumulative position and velocity solution. We present the new methodology used to compute DPOD2014 and its validation procedure. In order to present geophysical applications and interpretations of these results, we show two examples: (1) the Gorkha earthquake (M7.8 – April 2015) generates a 3-D mis-positioning of nearly 55 mm of the EVEB DORIS station at the Everest base camp 90 km from the epicenter. (2) Applying the results the DPOD2014 realization, we show that the most recent vertical velocity of Thule, Greenland is similar to that observed between 2006 and 2010, indicating further ongoing ice mass loss in the Thule region of northwest Greenland. However, knowledge of the spatio-temporal dynamics associated with winter land-use remains a challenge for the scientific community. In this context, the objective of this study is to evaluate the potential of time series of high spatial resolution optical and SAR images for the study of winter land-use at a local and regional scale. For that purpose, a methodology has been established to: (i) determine the most suitable classification method for identifying winter land-use ; (ii) compare Sentinel-1 SAR and Sentinel-2 optical images; (iii) define the most suitable SAR configuration by comparing three image time-series (Alos-2, Radarsat-2 and Sentinel-1).The results first of all highlighted the interest of the Random Forest classification algorithm to discriminate at a fine scale the different types of land use in winter. Secondly, they showed the value of Sentinel-2 data for mapping winter land-use at a local and regional scale. Finally, they determined that a dense time series of Sentinel-1 images was the most appropriate SAR configuration to identify winter land-use. In general, while this thesis has shown that Sentinel-2 data are best suited to studying land use in winter, SAR images are of great interest in regions with significant cloud cover, dense Sentinel-1 time-series having being defined as the most efficient.
