[Termes IGN] téléphonie mobileRésumé : (Auteur) In a context of a virus that is transmissive by sputtering, wearing masks appear necessary to protect the wearer and to limit the propagation of the disease. Currently, we are facing the 2019-20 coronavirus pandemic. Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) is an infectious disease with first symptoms similar to the flu. COVID-19 appeared first in China and very quickly spreads to the rest of the world. The COVID-19 contagiousness is known to be high by comparison with the flu. In this paper, we propose a design of a mobile application for permitting to everyone having a smartphone and being able to take a picture to verify that his/her protection mask is correctly positioned on his/her face. Such application can be particularly useful for people using face protection mask for the first time and notably for children and old people. The designed method exploits Haar-like feature descriptors to detect key features of the face and a decision-making algorithm is applied. Experimental results show the potential of this method in the validation of the correct mask wearing. To the best of our knowledge, our work is the only one that currently proposes a mobile application design "CheckYourMask" for validating the correct wearing of protection mask. [Termes IGN] téléphone intelligentRésumé : (auteur) Crowdsourcing geographic information has been a massive phenomenon that took place over the last two decades and that changed dramatically the diffusion of geographic data in society. The availability and readiness of geographic information is paramount in practically all software systems and services and this is strongly determined by the drive of people putting energy in data collection and improvement. Understanding the motivations of people to participate in this process is fundamental to leverage the design of new systems able to increase satisfaction and productivity. The introduction of game mechanisms in geographic crowdsourcing is the theme that we face in this research. The so-called gamification of applications has been widely used as a stimulant for involving people in serious activities that are hidden behind the gaming façade. Cooperation and competition are key factors that are promoted through the game. We synthesize a conceptual model that collects the main gaming techniques tailored for geographic data and that is the basis for the development of a gamification library. As a proof of concept, we deploy an Android app for geometric data collection inside buildings and test it in a university setting. [Termes IGN] téléphone intelligentRésumé : (Auteur) The localization of persons or objects usually refers to a position determined in a spatial reference system. Outdoors, this is usually accomplished with Global Navigation Satellite Systems (GNSS). However, the automatic positioning of people in GNSS-free environments, especially inside of buildings (indoors) poses a huge challenge. Indoors, satellite signals are attenuated, shielded or reflected by building components (e.g. walls or ceilings). For selected applications, the automatic indoor positioning is possible based on different technologies (e.g. WiFi, RFID, or UWB). However, a standard solution is still not available. Many indoor positioning systems are only suitable for specific applications or are deployed under certain conditions, e.g. additional infrastructures or sensor technologies. Smartphones, as popular cost-effective multi-sensor systems, is a promising indoor localization platform for the mass-market and is increasingly coming into focus. Today’s devices are equipped with a variety of sensors that can be used for indoor positioning. In this contribution, an approach to smartphone-based pedestrian indoor localization is presented. The novelty of this approach refers to a holistic, real-time pedestrian localization inside of buildings based on multi-sensor smartphones and easy-to-install local positioning systems. For this purpose, the barometric altitude is estimated in order to derive the floor on which the user is located. The 2D position is determined subsequently using the principle of pedestrian dead reckoning based on user's movements extracted from the smartphone sensors. In order to minimize the strong error accumulation in the localization caused by various sensor errors, additional information is integrated into the position estimation. The building model is used to identify permissible (e.g. rooms, passageways) and impermissible (e.g. walls) building areas for the pedestrian. Several technologies contributing to higher precision and robustness are also included. For the fusion of different linear and non-linear data, an advanced algorithm based on the Sequential Monte Carlo method is presented. [Termes IGN] urbanisationRésumé : (éditeur) In current times, highly complex and urgent policy problems--e.g., climate change, rapid urbanization, equitable access to key services, land rights, and massive human resettlement--challenge citizens, NGOs, private corporations, and governments at all levels. These policy problems, often called 'wicked', involve multiple causal factors, anticipated and unanticipated effects, as well as high levels of disagreement among stakeholders about the nature of the problem and the appropriateness of solutions. Given the wickedness of such policy problems, interdisciplinary and longitudinal research is required, integrating and harnessing the diverse skills and knowledge of urban planners, anthropologists, geographers, geo-information scientists, economists, and others. This Special Issue promotes innovative concepts, methods, and tools, as well as the role of geo-information, to help (1) analyze alternative policy solutions, (2) facilitate stakeholder dialogue, and (3) explore possibilities for tackling wicked problems related to climate change, rapid urbanization, equitable access to key services (such as water and health), land rights, and human resettlements in high-, middle-, and low-income countries in the North and South. Such integrative approaches can deepen our understanding of how different levels of government and governance reach consensus, despite diverging beliefs and preferences. Due to the particularly complex spatiotemporal characteristics of wicked policy problems, innovative concepts, alternative methods, and new geo-information tools play a significant role. [Termes IGN] trajet multipleRésumé : (auteur) Low cost receivers providing GNSS code and phase raw measurements for multiple frequencies and multiple GNSS constellations have recently become available on the market. This significantly increases the number of devices equipped with the necessary sensors to perform precise GNSS positioning like Network-RTK or PPP. The smartphone GNSS measurements often suffer from low signal-to-noise, inhomogeneous antenna gain and high levels of multipath. Here, we show how to tackle several of currently present obstacles and demonstrate centimeter-level kinematic positioning with a low-cost GNSS antenna and a low-cost GNSS receiver built into an off-the-shelf smartphone. For some devices we found that the phase observations do not have integer characteristic but appear to have random biases. To some extend these observations can still be used in a “float”-type precise algorithm. Low cost GNSS sensors like the ones built into smartphones are generally used with antennas that have a uniform gain pattern and do not reject LHCP signals. Accordingly, strong multipath influence is observed in many applications. Experiments both in a zero-baseline and a short-baseline configuration have been performed, to evaluate the aforementioned biases and discontinuities. We demonstrate instantaneous ambiguity resolution in the zero-baseline setup, showing the potential for RTK-positioning with low-cost sensors available inside smartphones. Positioning with PPP-RTK or Network-RTK is more challenging because additional residual atmospheric noise is present. Experiments with different baseline lengths have been performed in different ionospheric conditions and the achieved accuracies are reported.
