[Termes IGN] utilisation du solRésumé : (Auteur) This study covers the analysis of temporal change of the land use in Terkos basin which is among the basins, actually the most important one, that were studied within the project of “Analysis of the Land-Use Changes by Using the Satellite Images of the Water Basins of Istanbul” carried out by a group from Istanbul Technical University (ITU), Remote Sensing Division for Istanbul Water Board Authority (ISKI). As the spatial resolution is high, IRS IC-1D and LISS III satellite images belonging to three different years were used in the project. In the first stage of the study, geometric rectification process of the images were made. In the second stage, land-use classes were determined by applying classification algorithms on the basis of outer border of the long-term conservation area of Terkos basin. From the classification process and its results, area values were calculated and temporal changes were ascertained. In the last stage of the study, accuracy evaluations has been carried out. [Termes IGN] utilisation du solRésumé : (Auteur) Dans cet article, nous démontrons le besoin de relier la géomatique aux méthodes d'analyse sociale pour l'inventaire et la description des changements dans l'utilisation des terres. Jusqu'à tout récemment, ces deux méthodes étaient utilisées comme approches distinctes et à des niveaux variés d'interrogation. Deux études de cas au Malawi, soit l'approche inductive et l'approche déductive de la surveillance de la couverture et de l'utilisation des terres, illustrent l'utilité de lier la géomatique à l'analyse sociale comme outils complémentaires. Ces deux études intègrent la géomatique à l'analyse sociale, mais les points de départ diffèrent. La première étude part de 1'identification de la localisation du changement environnemental, sans hypothèse préconçue des causes possibles de ce changement. Dans ce cas, l'utilisation de la géomatique amène aux lieux où une analyse plus approfondie des changements doit s'effectuer. Le second cas a pour point de départ une question d'ordre politique environnementale, soit : " Quels ont été les effets de la libéralisation du marché sur l'environnement ? " et utilise la télédétection afin d'évaluer un ensemble d'hypothèses. C'est l'approche déductive. Sans tenir compte du point de départ, l'intégration de la géomatique et de l'analyse sociale peut promouvoir un cycle de recherches inductives et déductives. La géomatique et l'analyse sociale répondent non seulement à des questions différentes, mais peuvent aussi être utilisées pour vérifier et développer les connaissances de la dynamique des interactions entre la nature et la société. [Termes IGN] utilisation du solRésumé : (documentaliste) The study concerns the assessment of multisensor data from spaceborne radar and spaceborne optical systems for land use in East Africa. As images can be made by radar through clouds, radar is complementary to optical systems. Standard processing techniques were applied to both radar and optical data. In addition, radar data were manipulated to optimize this source. All the data covered three different sites (in Sudan and Kenya) with different characteristics in climate and topography. Radar data was compared to combined radar and optical data which led to the conclusion that classification accuracy and discrimination in settlements were improved with the combine.
