[Termes IGN] trajet multipleRésumé : (auteur) Precise point positioning (PPP) has been recognized as a powerful tool for various geophysical applications. However, the long convergence time required to resolve a reliable ambiguity impedes its further application in time-critical scenarios. Although PPP ambiguity resolution (AR) can shorten the convergence time, its performance is subject to the quality of float ambiguity estimates and the uncalibrated phase delay (UPD), which can be contaminated by multipath errors. Furthermore, the observation residuals derived from PPP are very likely to be affected by the common-mode error (CME), thereby deteriorating the multipath modeling accuracy. The principal component analysis (PCA) is employed to mitigate the CME effect, and the multipath is modeled using a multipath hemispherical map (MHM). Consequently, the narrow-lane (NL) UPDs with multipath correction have better temporal stability and residual distributions than those without correction. Compared with sidereal filtering (SF), the MHM0.5 has comparable residual variance reduction percentages, indicating its capability of capturing high-frequency multipath. For static PPP AR, the averaged time to first fix (TTFF) can be reduced by 24.2% to about 26 min and the convergence time can be achieved within 16.2 min after multipath correction. The pseudorange multipath correction significantly contributes to shortening the TTFF and convergence time. Reducing the resolution of MHM increases the risk of extending the TTFF. For kinematic PPP AR with MHM0.5, the convergence time exhibits a remarkable improvement when compared with that of the uncorrected case (21.7 min versus 40.2 min), and 20% of the stations achieve convergence within 10 min. Meanwhile, a few stations only take one minute to achieve convergence. The contribution of the multipath correction to the fixing rate is comparatively small. After applying MHM0.5, the kinematic positioning accuracies are improved by 35.7%, 12.6%, and 24.4% to 1.26, 1.39, and 2.73 cm for the east, north, and up components, respectively. [Termes IGN] régression multipleRésumé : (auteur) Underwater ultraviolet radiation (UVR), which plays a significant role in photobiological and photochemical processes, is one of the key factors in marine ecosystems. A new algorithm KpcaUV, based on kernel principal component analysis (KPCA) and multiple linear regression (MLR), was proposed in this study for the retrieval of the UVR diffuse attenuation coefficient Kd(λ) from remote sensing reflectance Rrs(λ) in the global ocean. KPCA can be applied in all areas that principal components analysis (PCA) can be used. More importantly, KPCA can help mapping data into high dimensions and reducing the nonlinearity between inputs and outputs, which will improve the performance and robustness of algorithms when deriving large dynamic ranges parameters. Compared with SeaUVc, which is one of the most successful Kd(λ) retrieval algorithms in UVR, the results showed that KpcaUV (with R2 : 0.970 and RMSE: 14.0%) performed similar to SeaUVc (with R2 : 0.963 and RMSE: 15.6%) when implemented with high-quality data. Nevertheless, KpcaUV was more robust and consistent than SeaUVc when implemented on the satellite images with different levels of quality control. The RMSD of SeaUVc had a significant reduction from 26.8% (QA ≥ 0.6) to 12.7% (QA = 1.0), and the RMSD of KpcaUV varied less than SeaUVc from 14.6% (QA ≥ 0.6) to 10.1% (QA = 1). Hence, considering its good nonlinear-problem-solving ability and robustness when applied to multiple satellites, KpcaUV proposed by this study can be used to obtain Kd(380) for the continuous observation of the large area. [Termes IGN] surveillance écologiqueRésumé : (auteur) Airborne hyperspectral remote sensing is an important application in the ecological monitoring of the environment in mining areas, and accurate preprocessing of the original images is the key to quantitative information retrieval. The original image data need radiation correction to acquire surface reflectance data. Due to the impact of the field angle, incidental radiance, and the bidirectional reflectance distribution function (BRDF), there can be a brightness gradient between adjacent strips, which leads to radiance difference and obvious chromatic aberration of the mosaicked images. We propose a novel data correction method for seamless mosaicking of airborne hyperspectral images. Firstly, visible and near-infrared (VNIR) and shortwave infrared (SWIR) sensors are calibrated in the laboratory, and the radiation calibration model of the sensor is established by an integrating-sphere system. A correction function is then established by combining the BRDF effect and the radiation attenuation coefficients. We also normalize the exposure time, sun altitude angle, and sensor altitude angle according to the flight strip. The results showed that this method is able to eliminate the signal distortion, allowing the seamless mosaicking of 37 strip images which were taken in different date and conditions in the study area. After the atmospheric correction of the imagery was completed, the accuracy of the preprocessing results was evaluated by field-measured ASD spectroradiometer data. The coefficient of determination R2 of the results for the reflectance was greater than 0.9. The experiments show that the proposed method has a good performance in radiation accuracy, and can provide high-quality hyperspectral data for the follow-up application of the ecological monitoring of a mining area. [Termes IGN] précision du positionnementRésumé : (Auteur) Joint use of observations from multiple global navigation satellite systems (GNSS) is advantageous in high-accuracy positioning. However, systematic errors in the observations can significantly impact on the positioning accuracy if such errors cannot be properly mitigated. The errors can distort least squares estimations and also affect the results of variance component estimation that is frequently used to determine the stochastic model when observations from multiple GNSS are used. We present an approach that is based on the concept of semiparametric estimation for mitigating the effects of the systematic errors. Experimental results based on both simulated and real GNSS datasets show that the approach is effective, especially when applied before carrying out variance component estimation. [Termes IGN] photogrammétrie terrestreRésumé : (Auteur) The least squares adjustment (LSA) method is studied as an optimisation problem and shown to be equivalent to the undamped Gauss–Newton (GN) optimisation method. Three problem-independent damping modifications of the GN method are presented: the line search method of Armijo (GNA); the Levenberg–Marquardt algorithm (LM); and Levenberg–Marquardt with Powell dogleg (LMP). Furthermore, an additional problem-specific “veto” damping technique, based on the chirality condition, is suggested. In a perturbation study on a terrestrial bundle adjustment problem, the GNA and LMP methods with veto damping can increase the size of the pull-in region compared to the undamped method; the LM method showed less improvement. The results suggest that damped methods can, in many cases, provide a solution where undamped methods fail and should be available in any LSA software package. Matlab code for the algorithms discussed is available from the authors.
