[Termes IGN] précision du positionnementRésumé : (auteur) This paper introduces an improved particle swarm optimisation algorithm (IPSO), to select satellites rapidly in multi-GNSS marine positioning. The traditional particle swarm optimisation (PSO) may be trapped into local optimisation. To avoid the disadvantage, the proposed algorithm uses linear inertia weight factor and two functions of the immune system, i.e. the memory function and the self-regulatory function. Several experiments are carried out by adopting real survey data collected by the SiNan receiver that is installed on the Snow Dragon scientific research ship during the 9th China Arctic expedition. Compared with the minimum Geometric dilution of precision (GDOP) method, PSO and IPSO significantly reduce the computing time (96.25% and 95.61%). The variance of IPSO is 0.063, which is much lower than that of PSO (0.087). As for the positioning accuracy, the IPSO can reach the centimetre level in the kinematics condition. [Termes IGN] système d'information géographiqueRésumé : (auteur) Spatial modeling of migration and the identification of the effective parameters are imperative for planning and managing demographic, economic, social, and environmental changes on various geographical scales. The recent climate change stressors as well as inequality in terms of education and life quality have triggered internal mass migrations in Iran, causing pressure on housing, the job market, and potential slums around large cities. This study proposes a new approach to modeling migration patterns in Iran based on multi-criteria decision analysis. For this purpose, a total of 23 individual criteria embedded within four criteria groups (economic, socio-cultural, welfare, and environmental) affecting national migration were used. The analytic hierarchy process was employed to determine weights for the input factors and the weighted linear combination (WLC) model was used for the integration of criteria, based on which maps of migration potential were produced. The model applied was evaluated based on the correlation coefficient between migration potential values obtained from the WLC model and the actual net migration rate. Among the input individual criteria, unemployment, higher education centers, number of physicians, and dust storms were found to influence national migration. Furthermore, our findings reveal that the potential for migration across Iranian provinces is heterogeneous, with the spatial potential for emigration being the highest and lowest in the border and central provinces, respectively. The correlation coefficient calculated between outputs from the WLC model and the net migration rate from 2011 to 2016, was .81, indicating the relatively high performance of the proposed model in producing a migration spatial potential map. Our proposed approach, along with the results achieved, can be useful to decision-makers and planners in designing data-driven policies against inequality- and climate-induced stressors. [Termes IGN] risque naturelRésumé : (auteur) Soil erosion is a type of land degradation caused by the interactive interaction of numerous factors, such as natural and socioeconomic conditions of a particular watershed. In this study, a comprehensive integrated methodology was used to evaluate the water erosion hazard in the Zhuxi watershed in Southern China, which is greatly affected by eroded soil. Ten indicators were selected, and a thematic layer map was generated for each indicator using Geographic Information System (GIS). The weight of each evaluation indicator was determined by combining analytic hierarchy process (AHP) with entropy method. Results show that the east and west sections of the Zhuxi watershed have very low and low grades of soil erosion hazards, respectively, and the middle part has the highest hazard. More than 60% of the area has high erosion hazard (moderate to very high). The intensity of soil erosion is lower than its hazard level, especially in high-grade hazard. The obtained results for erosion hazard level can be used to develop conservation strategies for the Zhuxi watershed. This study evaluates soil erosion hazard and offers reference for soil erosion control. The impact of drought could be alleviated via constructing dams to ensure water storage and supply. The aim of the present study is to detect proper sites for planning rainwater harvesting (RWH) in the western desert of Iraq using both the Boolean overlay and the weighted linear combination (WLC) in the geographic information system (GIS). Potential sites of rainwater harvesting were identified using multi-criteria evaluation. Several criteria were used, including physical characteristics and climatological and socio-economic conditions to determine the proper location for RWH. Seven WLC parameters were used in the site selection process: runoff, slope, soil texture, land use/land cover (LULC), distance from irrigated lands, distance from residential areas, and distance from roads, while the Boolean overlay method used the stream order and distance from faults parameters. The results indicated that the final map can be classified into three classes of suitability, i.e., (i) highly suitable with 6% coverage (117 km2), (ii) moderately suitable with 4% coverage (78 km2), and (iii) least suitable with 90% coverage (1758 km2) of the basin area. It was indicated that only three earthen dams could be executed along streams. This low data-intensive and cost-effective methodology offered can be adopted in arid regions to embrace RWH as an efficient strategy to handle growing water scarcity. The proposed method could be adopted in many countries that have identical environmental and physical conditions to the western desert of Iraq, which is the case in most arid regions. [Termes IGN] SibérieRésumé : (auteur) The main purpose of this work is to assess the suitability of land for cultivation of the main agricultural crop of Western Siberia, namely spring wheat. The algorithm of land suitability assessment was developed on the territory of the test plot of land-use of CJSC Mirny, Kochenevsky District, Novosibirsk Region. For assessment of land suitability on the basis of expert knowledge, criteria related to relief and soil, not only known but also specific, inherent in the area under consideration, have been identified. In the absence of information on the topography and relief of the territory under consideration, the spatial database of geodata was created based on the results of high-resolution digital aerial photography from an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV). Elementary surfaces (ESs) at the micro-relief level have been determined with the help of GIS tools. Two most popular methods of obtaining criterion weights have been analysed: Analytic Hierarchy Process and the direct ranking method, and under certain conditions, a connection between these methods have been established. To assess the land suitability, the land suitability indices of selected ESs were calculated using GIS-MCDA (Multiple-Criteria Decision Analysis) method Weighted linear combination. Based on the value of land suitability index for all ESs, belonging to a certain suitability class according to FAO classification has been established. A map of land suitability with an assessment of spring wheat sowing expediency was obtained.
