[Termes IGN] texture d'imageRésumé : (auteur) The extraction of road information from high-resolution remotely-sensed images has important application value in many fields. Rural roads have the characteristics of relatively narrow widths and diversified pavement materials; these characteristics can easily lead to problems involving the similarity of the road texture with the texture of surrounding objects and make it difficult to improve the automation of traditional high-precision road extraction methods. Based on this background, a semi-automatic rural road extraction method constrained by a combination of geometric and texture features is proposed in this paper. First, an adaptive road width extraction model is proposed to improve the accuracy of the initial road centre point. Then, aiming at the continuous change of curvature of rural roads, a tracking direction prediction model is proposed. Finally, a matching model under geometric texture constraints is proposed, which solves the problem of similarity between road and neighbourhood texture to a certain extent. The experimental results show that by selecting different types of experimental scenes or remotely sensed image data, compared with other methods, the proposed method can not only guarantee the road extraction accuracy but also improve the degree of automation to a certain extent. [Termes IGN] série temporelleRésumé : (auteur) Modeling and understanding the statistical relationships between geophysical quantities is a crucial prerequisite for many geodetic applications. While these relationships can depend on multiple variables and their interactions, commonly used scalar methods like the (cross) correlation are only able to describe linear dependencies. However, particularly in regions with complex terrain, the statistical relationships between variables can be highly nonlinear and spatially heterogeneous. Therefore, we introduce Copula-based approaches for modeling and analyzing the full dependence structure. We give an introduction to Copula theory, including five of the most widely used models, namely the Frank, Clayton, Ali-Mikhail-Haq, Gumbel and Gaussian Copula, and use this approach for analyzing zenith tropospheric delays (ZTDs). We apply modeled ZTDs from the Weather and Research Forecasting (WRF) model and estimated ZTDs through the processing of Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) data and evaluate the pixel-wise dependence structures of ZTDs over a study area with complex terrain in Central Europe. The results show asymmetry and nonlinearity in the statistical relationships, which justifies the application of Copula-based approaches compared to, e.g., scalar measures. We apply a Copula-based correction for generating GNSS-like ZTDs from purely WRF-derived estimates. Particularly the corrected time series in the alpine regions show improved Nash–Sutcliffe efficiency values when compared against GNSS-based ZTDs. The proposed approach is therefore highly suitable for analyzing statistical relationships and correcting model-based quantities, especially in complex terrain, and when the statistical relationships of the analyzed variables are unknown. [Termes IGN] zone urbaineRésumé : (auteur) Automatic detection and recognition of traffic signs have many applications. However, some problems can affect the accuracy of the existing algorithms, such as changes in environmental light conditions, shadows, the presence of objects of the same colour, significant changes in scale and rotation, as well as obstacles in front of the traffic signs. To overcome these difficulties, a reference image database is usually used that includes different modes of appearing the traffic signs in the images. In order to overcome the effects of scale and rotation, in this paper a new method is presented in which only one reference image is needed for each sign to recognise the traffic sign in an image. In the proposed method, imaging is done in stereo. Using the captured image pair, a virtual image is generated which is then used to recognise the sign. As a result, the recognition is carried out with a minimum number of reference images. Experiments show that the proposed algorithm significantly improves recognition results. The traffic signs are recognised with 93.1% accuracy that enjoys a 4.9% improvement over traditional methods. [Termes IGN] transformation polynomialeRésumé : (auteur) Stereo photogrammetry has been used in this study to analyse and detect movements within the Lecture theater of School of Environmental Technology of Federal University of Technology Minna via the use of Kalman filter algorithm. The essential steps for implementation of this method are herein highlighted and results obtained indicate Ins. Mov.s (velocity) ranging from ±0.0000001 m/epoch to ±0.000007 m/epoch with greater movements noticed in the horizontal direction than in the vertical direction of the building. Because the observed movements were insignificant, the building has been classified as stable. However, a longer period of observation with a bi-monthly observational interval has been recommended to enable decision on the rate of rise/sink and deformation of the building. [Termes IGN] précision infrapixellaireRésumé : (auteur) In this article, the problem of synthetic aperture radar (SAR) images coregistration is considered. In particular, a novel algorithm aimed at achieving a fine subpixel coregistration accuracy is developed. The procedure is based on the parabolic interpolation of the 2-D cross correlation computed between the two SAR images to be aligned. More precisely, from the 2-D cross correlation, a neighborhood of its peak value is extracted and the interpolation of both the 2-D paraboloid and the two alternative 1-D parabolas is computed to provide the finer misregistration estimation with subpixel accuracy. The main advantage of the proposed framework is that the overall computational burden is only due to the 2-D cross correlation estimation since the parabolic interpolation is calculated with a closed-form expression. The results obtained on real recorded unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) SAR data highlight the effectiveness of the proposed approach as well as its capabilities to provide some benefits with respect to other available strategies.
