[Termes IGN] radar pénétrant GPRRésumé : (auteur) This paper is a review of published studies involving the use of ground penetrating radar (GPR) on wood structures. It also contains background information to help the reader understand how GPR functions. The use of GPR on wood structures began to grow in popularity at the turn of the millennium. GPR has many characteristics that make it attractive as an inspection tool for wood: it is faster than many acoustic and stress wave techniques; it does not require the use of a couplant; while it can also detect the presence of moisture. Moisture detection is of prime concern, and several researchers have labored to measure internal moisture using GPR. While there have been several laboratory studies involving the use of GPR on wood, its use as an inspection tool on large wood structures has been limited. This review identified knowledge gaps that need to be addressed to improve the efficacy of GPR as a reliable inspection tool of wood structure. Chief among these gaps, is the ability to distinguish the type of internal feature from the GPR output and the ability to identify internal decay. [Vedettes matières IGN] Traitement de données GNSSRésumé : (auteur) The cycle slip detection and repair are crucial steps in the preprocessing of GNSS carrier phase observation. Currently, however, there are few cycle slip detection and repair methods that can meet the data processing needs for diverse situations. To solve this problem, a highly adaptable cycle slip detection and repair method is proposed. First, a cycle slip detection equation is established using the pseudo-range and carrier double-differenced (DD) observations; the state equation is developed based on the satellite-ground distance. Then, a Kalman filter estimation model is established by joining the two equations. Subsequently, the cycle slip can be detected and repaired. Finally, the state parameters are refined in accordance with the conditional distribution. According to the results of the example, all the simulated cycle slips are detected and repaired by the method proposed. It shows that the method can meet the data processing needs for multiple situations. Automated architectural symmetry detection (ASD) from a data source is not only an intriguing inquiry in its own right, but also a step towards creation of semantically rich building and city information models with applications in architectural design, construction management, heritage conservation, and smart city development. While recent advances in sensing technologies provide inexpensive yet high-quality architectural 3D point clouds, existing methods of ASD from these data sources suffer several weaknesses including noise sensitivity, inaccuracy, and high computational loads. This paper aims to develop a novel derivative-free optimization (DFO)-based approach for effective ASD. It does so by firstly transforming ASD into a nonlinear optimization problem involving architectural regularity and topology. An in-house ODAS (Optimization-based Detection of Architectural Symmetries) approach is then developed to solve the formulated problem using a set of state-of-the-art DFO algorithms. Efficiency, accuracy, and robustness of ODAS are gauged from the experimental results on nine sets of real-life architectural 3D point clouds, with the computational time for ASD from 1.4 million points only 3.7 s and increasing in a sheer logarithmic order against the number of points. The contributions of this paper are threefold. Firstly, formulating ASD as a nonlinear optimization problem constitutes a methodological innovation. Secondly, the provision of up-to-date, open source DFO algorithms allows benchmarking in the future development of free, fast, accurate, and robust approaches for ASD. Thirdly, the ODAS approach can be directly used to develop building and city information models for various value-added applications. [Termes IGN] vitesseRésumé : (auteur) A 1.5-μm all-fiber coherent Doppler lidar system for wind sensing was developed and characterized. The system design and implementation is presented. The system employs a 20-kHz pulse repetition rate transmitter and samples return signals at 400 MHz. A field-programmable gate array is programmed to generate and accumulate real-time periodograms representing average power spectra of the Doppler shifted echo from a series of more than 60 range gates, where each range gate is 48 m. The accumulated periodograms are streamed to a host computer for subsequent processing to yield the line-of-sight wind velocity. Wind velocity estimates with a precision value of 0.08 m/s can be made under nominal aerosol loading and nominal atmospheric turbulence conditions for ranges up to 3 km. Wind velocities and aerosol profiles are obtained while scanning the pointing direction of the lidar, thus producing both horizontal and vertical representations of the wind vectors. A very detailed semantic tree for urban scenes is proposed. We call analysis the capacity of a method to separate the points of the scene into these categories (classification), and to separate the different objects of the same type for object classes (detection). A very large ground truth is produced manually in two steps using advanced editing tools developed especially for this benchmark. Based on this ground truth, the benchmark aims at evaluating the classification, detection and segmentation quality of the submitted results.
