[Termes IGN] variation saisonnièreRésumé : (auteur) Quantification of regional methane (CH4) gas emission in the paddy fields is critical under climate warming. Mechanism models generally require numerous parameters while empirical models are too coarse. Based on the mechanism and structure of the widely used model CH4MOD, a GIS-based Regional CH4 Emission Calculation (GRMC) method was put forward by introducing multiple sources of remote sensing images, including MOD09A1, MOD11A2, MOD15A2H as well as local water management standards. The stress of soil moisture condition (f(water)) on CH4 emissions was quantified by calculating the redox potential (Eh) from days after flooding or falling dry. The f(water)-t curve was calculated under different exogenous organic matter addition. Combining the f(water)-t curve with local water management standards, the seasonal variation of f(water) was obtained. It was proven that f(water) was effective in reflecting the regulation role of soil moisture condition. The GRMC was tested at four Eddy Covariance (EC) sites: Nanchang (NC) in China, Twitchell (TWT) in the USA, Castellaro (CAS) in Italy and Cheorwon (CRK) in Korea and has been proven to well track the seasonal dynamics of CH4 emissions with R2 ranges of 0.738–0.848, RMSE ranges of 31.94–149.22 mg C/m2d and MBE ranges of −66.42- -14.79 mg C/m2d. The parameters obtained in Nanchang (NC) site in China were then applied to the Ganfu Plain Irrigation System (GFPIS), a typical rice planting area of China, to analyse the spatial-temporal variations of CH4 emissions. The total CH4 emissions of late rice in the GFPIS from 2001 to 2013 was in the range of 14.47–20.48 (103 t CH4-C). Ts caused spatial variation of CH4 production capacity, resulting in the spatial variability of CH4 emissions. Overall, the GRMC is effective in obtaining CH4 emissions from rice fields on a regional scale. Hence, the accuracy of metro-accessibility measures have become increasingly vital. Various spatiotemporal factors, including by-metro accessibility, land-use accessibility and to-metro accessibility, affect metro accessibility; however, measuring metro accessibility while considering all these components simultaneously is challenging. By integrating these factors into a unified analysis framework, this study aims to strengthen the method for metro-accessibility assessment. Specifically, we proposed the “By metro–Land use–To metro” model to conduct a metro-accessibility index and develop an accessibility-based station typology. The results show that Wuhan metro system accessibility presented a “high-medium-low” spatial disparity from the urban center to the periphery. Meanwhile, the variety of metro-accessibility characteristics and typologies in Wuhan will equip urban planners and policymakers with a useful tool for better organising by-metro accessibility, land-use accessibility and to-metro accessibility. [Termes IGN] santé des forêtsRésumé : (auteur) Spatially explicit information on the distribution of dominant tree species groups and aboveground biomass (AGB) in forested areas is essential for developing targeted forest management and biodiversity conservation measures, as well as assessing forest carbon sequestration capacity. There is a shortage of continuously updated 30-m spatial resolution products for mapping dominant tree species groups. The vast majority of remote sensing-based AGB estimation approaches have relatively low accuracy for dominant tree species groups or forest types and are unsuitable for AGB modeling. Therefore, this study aims to develop an integrated framework that considers the phenological characteristics of different tree species to improve the mapping accuracies of forest dominant tree groups and corresponding AGB estimates. Thirty-meter resolution maps of dominant tree species groups were created using machine learning algorithms and phenological parameters. Features extracted from optical and radar images and phenological characteristics were used to construct AGB estimation models in a temporally consistent manner to improve the AGB estimation accuracy and perform dynamic AGB monitoring. The proposed method accurately characterized the dynamic distribution of the dominant tree species groups in the study area. The traditional AGB model that does not consider different forest types or species had an R2 value of 0.52, whereas the proposed model that considers phenology and forest types had an R2 value of 0.67. This result indicates that incorporating information on phenology and dominant species improves the accuracy of AGB estimations. The AGB in most regions was 30–55 t/ha, showing that the majority of the forests were young or middle-aged stands, and the areal percentage of AGB greater than 30 t/ha increased during the study period, suggesting an improvement in forest quality. Furthermore, the oak AGB was the highest, indicating that oak afforestation should be encouraged to enhance the carbon sequestration capacity of future forest ecosystems. The results provide new insights for researchers and managers to understand the trends of forest development and forest health, as well as technical information and a database for formulating more rational forest management strategies. To better understand climate, historical climate(e.g. archived meteorological variables such as temperature, wind, water, etc.) and climate-related data (e.g. geographical features and human activities) are widely used by today’s climate research to derive models for an explainable climate change and its effects. However, such data sources are often dispersed across a multitude of disconnected data silos on the Web. Moreover, there is a lack of advanced climate data platforms to enable multi-source heterogeneous climate data analysis, therefore, researchers must face a stern challenge in collecting and analyzing multi-source data. In this paper, we address this problem by proposing a climate knowledge graph for the integration of multiple climate data and other data sources into one service, leveraging Web technologies (e.g. HTTP) for multi-source climate data analysis. The proposed knowledge graph is primarily composed of data from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s daily climate summaries, OpenStreetMap, and Wikidata, and it supports joint data queries on these widely used databases. This paper shows, with a use case in Ireland and the United Kingdom, how climate researchers could benefit from this platform as it allows them to easily integrate datasets from different domains and geographical locations. However, the complexity of urban context and its indirect interaction with traffic flow deepen the difficulty of exploring their relationship. This study proposes a geo-semantic framework first to generate semantic representations of multi-hierarchical urban context and street-level traffic flow, and then investigate their mutual correlation and predictability using a novel semantic matching method. The results demonstrate that each street is associated with its multi-hierarchical spatial signatures of urban context and street-level temporal signatures of traffic flow. The correlation between urban context and traffic flow displays higher values after semantic matching than those in multi-hierarchies. Moreover, we found that utilizing traffic flow to predict urban context results in better accuracy than the reversed prediction. The results of signature analysis and relationship exploration can contribute to a deeper understanding of context-aware transportation research.
