[Termes IGN] vectorisationRésumé : (auteur) The article considers the question of estimating the accuracy of interpolation methods for building digital elevation models using Soviet topographic maps. The territory of the Kursk region of the Russian Federation was used as the study area, because it is located on the Central Russian Upland and characterized by the complex structure of the vertical and horizontal dissection of the relief. Contour lines automatically obtained using a Python algorithm were used as the initial elevation data to build a digital elevation model. Digital elevation models obtained by thirteen different interpolation methods in ArcGIS and Surfer software were built and analyzed. Special attention is paid to the ANUDEM method, which allows to obtain hydrologically correct digital elevation models. Recommendations for the use of one or another method of interpolation are given. The results can be useful for professionals who use topographic maps in their work and deals with the design using digital elevation models. [Termes IGN] trigonométrieRésumé : (éditeur) Polynomials play a crucial role in many areas of mathematics including algebra, analysis, number theory, and probability theory. They also appear in physics, chemistry, and economics. Especially extensively studied are certain infinite families of polynomials. Here, we only mention some examples: Bernoulli, Euler, Gegenbauer, trigonometric, and orthogonal polynomials and their generalizations. There are several approaches to these classical mathematical objects. This Special Issue presents nine high quality research papers by leading researchers in this field. I hope the reading of this work will be useful for the new generation of mathematicians and for experienced researchers as well. Note de contenu : 1- Two variables Shivley’s matrix polynomial

[Termes IGN] surface forestièreRésumé : (auteur) Since Light Detection and Ranging (LiDAR) data are capable of distinguishing vegetation from bare earth, these data are used nowadays to produce digital terrain models (DTMs) for forest regions. In this research, raw LiDAR data were filtered using hybrid and slope-based filtering methods and the filtered data were then interpolated using the new modified particle swarm optimisation (PSO) and accordingly the results were compared with those achieved by the other intelligent and conventional interpolation methods. The new modified PSO optimized the polynomial degree for interpolation and found suitable parameters for optimisation. Two data sets from two forest regions in some northern regions of Iran located in Golestan province were selected to compare these methods. Region 1 with dense vegetation and region 2 with grass vegetation. The results indicated that the hybrid filter performed lower RMSE than the slope-based filter. Finally, the DTM with lowest RMSE was obtained using the hybrid filter and the modified PSO interpolation method with RMSE of 6 mm for region 1 (Tavar-kuh) and 61 mm for region 2 (Shastkola River Basin). [Termes IGN] texture d'imageRésumé : (Auteur) Infrared (IR) images are often contaminated by obvious intensity bias and stripes, which severely affect the visual quality and subsequent applications. It is challenging to eliminate simultaneously the mixed nonuniformity noise without blurring the fine-image details in low-textured IR images. In this article, we present a new model for simultaneous intensity bias correction and destriping through introducing two sparsity constraints. One is that model fit on the intensity bias should be as accurate as possible. A bivariate polynomial model is built to characterize the global smoothness of the intensity bias. The other constraint is that the unidirectional variational sparse model can concisely represent the direction characteristic of stripe noise. A computationally efficient numerical algorithm based on split Bregman iteration is used to solve the complex optimization problem. The proposed method is fundamentally different from the existing denoising techniques and simultaneously estimates the sharp image, intensity bias, and stripe components. Significant improvement on image quality is achieved on both simulated and real studies. Both qualitative and quantitative comparisons with the state-of-the-art correction methods demonstrate its superiority.
