It assumes knowledge only of basic calculus, matrix algebra and elementary statistics. This third edition contains detailed instructions for the use of the professional version of the Windows-based computer package ITSM2000, now available as a free download from the Springer Extras website. The logic and tools of time series model-building are developed in detail. Numerous exercises are included and the software can be used to analyze and forecast data sets of the user's own choosing. The book can also be used in conjunction with other time series packages such as those included in R. The programs in ITSM2000 however are menu-driven and can be used with minimal investment of time in the computational details. The core of the book covers stationary processes, ARMA and ARIMA processes, multivariate time series and state-space models, with an optional chapter on spectral analysis. Many additional special topics are also covered. Note de contenu : 1- Introduction

La cartographie et la visualisation de données spatiales sont de plus en plus utilisées pour communiquer à un large public, tout en fournissant une expertise spécifique. can be embedded in the mathematical framework of multifractal analysis, enabling the study of the fluctuations in regularity of image intensity and providing practical tools for their assessment, the wavelet coefficients or wavelet leaders. Although successfully applied in various contexts, multifractal analysis suffers at present from two major limitations. First, the accurate estimation of multifractal parameters for image texture remains a challenge, notably for small image sizes. Second, multifractal analysis has so far been limited to the analysis of a single image, while the data available in applications are increasingly multivariate. The main goal of this thesis is to develop practical contributions to overcome these limitations. The first limitation is tackled by introducing a generic statistical model for the logarithm of wavelet leaders, parametrized by multifractal parameters of interest. This statistical model enables us to counterbalance the variability induced by small sample sizes and to
embed the estimation in a Bayesian framework. This yields robust and accurate estimation procedures, effective both for small and large images. The multifractal analysis of multivariate images is then addressed by generalizing this Bayesian framework to hierarchical models able to account for the assumption that multifractal properties evolve smoothly in the dataset. This is achieved via the design of suitable priors relating the dynamical properties of the multifractal parameters of the different components composing the dataset. Different priors are investigated and compared in this thesis by means of numerical simulations conducted on synthetic multivariate multifractal images. This work is further completed by the investigation of the potential benefits of multifractal analysis and the proposed Bayesian methodology for remote sensing via the example of hyperspectral imaging.Note de contenu : Introduction

[Termes IGN] répartition géographiqueRésumé : (auteur) The spatial distribution of large mammals has been increasing in industrial nations, often leading to conflicts with humans and significant alteration of natural ecosystems. Species distribution models (SDMs) of the sika deer, Japanese serow, wild boar, Japanese macaque and Asiatic black bear in Japan were constructed to identify the important factors for habitat management. We also projected two scenarios of their future range expansions under a scenario of no change in the variables, and one where the variables change according to a time series. Modelling showed that all species preferred forest and forest/agricultural ecotones. In the best models of the sika deer and wild boar, grasslands (GRASSs) were an important positive factor, while human population density and hunting pressures were negative factors. High human population density was also a negative factor with the Japanese serow and Asiatic black bear. Key environments for the distribution and expansion of large mammals were agricultural areas near forest and GRASSs. Therefore, limiting the access of large mammals to such habitats may contribute to wildlife management. In both scenarios, our projections suggest that the distributions of all species could expand by 2028, resulting in more conflict with humans and significant alterations to natural ecosystems in the future. In order to stop this damaging expansion, habitat management and landscape redesign are important. However, a SDM and future projection include uncertainty. It is necessary to validate the estimates and projections by monitoring the future changes in distribution. [Termes IGN] surveillance d'ouvrageRésumé : (auteur) This paper presents the mathematical models developed for the design of a pedestrian, cable stayed bridge, the geodetic monitoring procedures and their detailed cross-comparisons and analyses undertaken during the phases of construction and at commissioning stage. Because of the asymmetric design, the relative flexibility of the pylons, the eccentric positioning of the central joint and the off-plane low angles of the cables, a multi-sensor, event based geodetic monitoring scheme was adopted to assess the structural integrity of the bridge. During construction, the bridge kinematics were measured along both sides of the deck and at selected points on the pylon facades using a digital level and a high accuracy total station used in metrology respectively. At a commissioning stage, a number of load test series were undertaken using conventional geodetic techniques and a tactical grade Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU). Analysis confirmed the overall mathematical modelling assumptions made for the individual stages of construction and for the completed structure. However, analysis also revealed the increased structural rigidity of the structure. This particularly applies for the torsional stiffness of the deck that exhibits low (by a factor of 0·5) rotation angles compared to those obtained from the analytical models.
