[Termes IGN] utilisateurRésumé : (auteur) Many location-based social networks (LBSNs) applications such as customized Point-Of-Interest (POI) recommendation, preference-based trip planning, travel time estimation, etc., involve an important task of understanding human trajectory patterns. In particular, identifying and linking trajectories to users who generate them – a problem called Trajectory-User Linking (TUL) – has become a focus of many recent works. TUL is usually studied as a multi-class classification problem and has gained recent attention because: (1) the number of labels/classes (i.e., users) is way larger than the number of motion patterns among various trajectories; and (2) the location-based trajectory data, especially the check-ins – i.e., events of reporting a location at particular Point of Interest (POI) with known semantics – are often extremely sparse. Towards addressing these challenges, we introduce a Trajectory Generative Adversarial Network (TGAN) as an approach to enable learning users motion patterns and location distribution, and to eventually identify human mobility. TGAN consists of two jointly trained neural networks, playing a Minimax game to (iteratively) optimize both components. The first one is the generator, learning trajectory representation by a Recurrent Neural Network (RNN) based model, aiming at fitting the underlying trajectory distribution of a particular individual and generate synthetic trajectories with intrinsic invariance and global coherence. The second one is the discriminator – a Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) based model that discriminates the generated trajectory from the real ones and provides guidance to train the generator model. We demonstrate that the above two models can be well tuned together to improve the TUL performance, while achieving superior accuracy when compared to existing approaches. A series of decentralized algorithms are presented and discussed (naïve, tree-based, and further devolved reactive approaches) for mobile geosensor nodes to share the necessary information to enable in-network detection and monitoring of convoys; these approaches require neither centralized control nor quantitative positioning. Empirical evaluation of algorithm characteristics and performance (via simulation experiments with synthetic and real movement data) demonstrate algorithm efficiency and effectiveness (with various strategies to structure information flow and devolve decision-making considerably improving communication efficiency). [Termes IGN] trajet (mobilité)Résumé : (Auteur) Nowadays, an abundance of sensors are used to collect very large datasets of moving objects. The movement of these objects can be analysed by identifying common routes. For this, a cluster of trajectories must be defined and the pattern of each cluster discovered. In this article, we introduce a new pattern, called the Trajectory Box Plot (TBP), to summarize a set of trajectories following the same route. The TBP is an extension of the well-known descriptive statistics Box Plot concept. Each TBP is described by a median trajectory, a 3D box and a 3D fence. The median trajectory depicts the typical movement of mobile objects. The box and the fences (whiskers) describe the spatial and temporal spreading around the central tendency. TBPs are useful to summarize and analyse trajectory streams, understand their spatio-temporal density and detect outliers. In this article, visual analysis highlights how the TBP pattern effectively describes how the density of trajectory clusters change over time. The semantic enrichment process was based on coupling movement trajectories sampled by GPS loggers with contextual data derived from trajectory-based digital activity dairies. Although the utility of such procedures in generating trajectory-specific semantic data was noted before, their application stays limited. In this paper, we promote the utilization of these procedures by demonstrating that they are not only feasible but also important for mobility studies. We discuss the characteristics of the semantic enrichment process and the manner by which it was applied within the large-scale analysis of urban dynamics. This application uncovered a time- and context-dependent array of centers in Jerusalem, resulting in a semantically rich characterization of urban dynamics. Such characterization provides otherwise unobtainable insights crucial for urban analysis. Wider implications for movement studies may be derived, as this application demonstrates how diary-based enrichment approaches hold the potential to advance bridging the semantic gap in mobility research. Man-made objects such as roads, railways and wind turbines may obstruct their natural flight paths. It is possible to analyse these flight paths by recording the ultrasounds emitted by bats. Using multiple microphones, the time difference in signal arrivai can be used to reconstruct a bat's 3D position.
