[Termes IGN] projet routierRésumé : (auteur) Spatial impacts of highway projects on biodiversity of North-Eastern Himalaya remains largely unexplored. Usually a number of ecological criteria are required in biodiversity impact assessment. However, a wide set of such criteria can be overwhelming for the decision-makers to assess the viability of such projects. SBIAM uses landscape metrics and experts’ opinion to create a single composite biodiversity value map. The weighted area loss under various project alternatives estimated from Biodiversity Value Map is compared to identify the most viable alternative. SBIAM uses AHP and curve fitting method in the biodiversity estimation. The study indicates that the highway broadening project in the study area will cause a moderate biodiversity loss. Sensitivity analysis of SBIAM indicates its robustness, and shows that forest patches near the highway are most sensitive to disturbances and patch proximity. SBIAM can be applied in varied spatial scales, terrains and development projects as a decision support tool. [Termes IGN] transformation en ondelettesRésumé : (auteur) Land cover change analysis was carried out using Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer (MODIS) Enhanced Vegetation Index (EVI) time series data for the period 2005–2014. MODIS EVI data coupled with Quality Assessment Science Data Sets (QASDS) was de-noised with Savitzky–Golay filter while enhancing quality and preserving the temporal profile of EVI. Wavelet transform (WT) based approach along with Sen slope’s method was used for land cover change and trend analysis. The WT based approach is useful for studying multiscale and non-stationary processes. Mann–Kendall test was performed to confirm the significance of the identified trends. Proposed approach identified 358 locations as change points, where 285 (79.6%) and 73 (20.4%) locations were detected as ‘Change’ and ‘False Change’ with respect to high resolution images. The proposed approach is useful for monitoring land cover changes that provide vital inputs for sustainable management of land resources. TLS derived digital elevation models indicated displacements >5 m on the landslide upper scarp. GNSS- and RTS-based observations showed horizontal movements towards the Alaknanda river in the landslide slope direction (maximum values: 0.1305 and 0.045 m, respectively), and downward vertical motion (largest subsidence magnitude: −2.1315 and −0.030 m, respectively). MT-InSAR processing of Sentinel-1a images identified 21071 measurement pixels, highlighting subsidence around the landslide (mean velocity range: −0.110 to 0.008 m/year). Analysis of displacement vectors using vector equality, cross-covariance, cross-correlation and principal component analysis reveals that GNSS vertical displacement estimates were partially correlated with MT-InSAR measurements (correlated for epoch difference 2–3), whereas there was good cross-correlation between MT-InSAR and LiDAR observations throughout. The displacement estimates and their analyses evident unstable movement of the landslide scarp occurring due to debris flow and rainfall, and a relatively moderate subsidence activity in the surrounding areas lying in the landslide zone.
