[Termes IGN] zone urbaineRésumé : (auteur) Building function type is an important parameter for urban planning and disaster management. However, existing identification methods do not always correctly recognize all building functions because of missing point of interest (POI) data in private areas. In this study, we proposed a hierarchical data-mining model to identify building function types using accessible auxiliary data, which was then applied to a case study. Residential building property was assessed to address missing residential POIs. The building functions were assigned to one of five different types, or a mixed-function type. Standard deviation and mean values extracted from remotely sensed images, distances to major roads, and building shape parameters were used to infer the function types of buildings without assigned function types. The proposed model was able to identify 65% of buildings not previously assigned as residential through the POI, with an overall accuracy of 87%. In addition, all buildings were successfully assigned a function type of residential, commercial, office, warehouse, public service, or mixed-function, with an overall accuracy of 85% for unclassified buildings. Our results demonstrated that missing POI data in private areas could be addressed by integration with multisource data using a simple method. Accordingly, the need for indoor navigation has arisen. Among the indoor positioning technologies, quick response (QR) code, a low-cost, easily deployable, flexible, and efficient approach, has been used for indoor positioning and navigation purposes. A navigation network (model) is a precondition for pedestrian navigation path planning. However, no thorough research has been completed to investigate the relationship between navigation networks and locations of QR codes, which may cause ambiguities when deciding the closest node from the network that should be used for path computation. Specifically, QR codes are generally placed according to preferences or certain specifications whereas current agreed navigation network derivation approaches do not consider that. This article presents a navigation network derivation approach to address the issue by integrating QR code locations as nodes in navigation networks. The present approach is demonstrated in a shopping mall case. The results show that the approach can overcome the above-mentioned issue for indoor pedestrian path planning based on the QR code localization. [Termes IGN] système d'information géographiqueRésumé : (auteur) In both the Geospatial (Geo) and Building Information Modelling (BIM) domains, it is widely acknowledged that the integration of geo-data and BIM-data is beneficial and a crucial step towards solving the multi-disciplinary challenges of our built environment. The result of this integration—broadly termed GeoBIM—has the potential to be particularly beneficial in the context of the construction of large infrastructure projects, which could make use of data relating to the larger spatial extents typically handled in geographical information systems (GIS) as well as the detailed models generated by BIM. To date, GeoBIM integration has mainly been explored for buildings, in a 3D context and for small projects. This paper demonstrates the results of the next level of integration, exploring the addition of the fourth dimension by linking project schedule information to create 4D GeoBIM, examining interoperability challenges and benefits in the context of a number of use cases relating to the enabling works for a major commercial infrastructure project. The integrating power of location and time—knowing where and when data relate to—allows us to explore data interoperability challenges relating to linking real world construction data, created using commercial software, with other data sources; we are then able to demonstrate the benefits of 4D GeoBIM in the context of three decision making scenarios: examining the potential for prioritisation of noise mitigation interventions by identifying apartments closest to the noisiest construction process; development of a 4D location-enabled risk register allowing, for example, work to continue underground if a risk is specific to the top of a building; ensuring construction safety by using 3D buffering to ensure that the required distances between moving construction equipment and surrounding infrastructure are not breached. Additionally, once integrated, we are able to ‘democratize’ the data—make it accessible beyond the BIM and GIS expert group—by embedding it into a 3D/4D open source Web GIS tool. [Termes IGN] SlovénieRésumé : (Auteur) Physical 3D maps have a fine history in cartography, but they require the highest level of craftsmanship and artistic talent from a cartographer. However, 3D printing technology can simplify production of 3D maps. This technology saves time and enables multiple reproduction of the same map, without painstaking manual labour. Nonetheless, to produce a high-quality 3D map, cartographers must use well-established cartographic principles and techniques. This paper describes the creation of a physical 3D map of the Planica Nordic Center. The main purpose of the map is to promote and clarify future development of the sports centre and to show its final infrastructure and landscaping. This paper describes the data, technology, and design decisions used in making the map. It also discusses the cartographic principles and techniques used in the making of the map, and the lessons learned.
