[Vedettes matières IGN] GéovisualisationRésumé : (auteur) The main purpose of this paper is to develop a new method for visualizing knowledge production which is attentive to the multiple elements embedded in research processes. In particular, we seek to problematise the representation of scholarship indicators by depicting theoretical contributions and field sites along a spectrum, rather than as discrete points, recursively and relationally constituted. The primary aim of our visualisations is to capture text and context, and codified and tacit knowledge. First, we offer a conventional representation of the location of selected dominant critical theories in Geography, arguing that current methods reinforce ‘lopsided’ geographies of knowledge production. Normative practices of data visualisation and representation captured in our two examples privilege certain elements centred on authorship and tend to silence the contexts informing research. Second, we borrow the term and method of chromatography, a tool used in the natural sciences but here conceived in its more literal sense of ‘writing the separations’. Our ‘chromatographical’ representations attempt to unbundle components currently absorbed by formal indicators of knowledge production. Such counter mappings attempt to convey the relational aspect of research between countries imbricated in the propagation of exemplary critical geographic theories. We conclude with a discussion of the implications that the disaggregation of value has for scholars and their research. [Vedettes matières IGN] Traitement de données GNSSRésumé : (auteur) Based on the polarization difference between the multipath and the line-of-sight (LOS) signal, a method for multipath detection using a single antenna is proposed. The antenna has two channels to receive two orthogonal linear polarized components of the multipath and LOS signal, respectively. A hypothetical model of the antenna is employed such that the antenna patterns of the channels are assumed identical regarding amplitude and phase and are independent of azimuth. The antenna gain in the direction below the local horizon is assumed to be larger than in the direction toward LOS signals. Parallel cross-cancellation is used to remove the LOS signal from the received signals based on the magnitude and phase difference between the two orthogonal components. Then the residual signals are processed by a conventional digital processor of global navigation satellite system. The multipath can be detected by parallel cross-cancellation in the receiver in real time. The proposed method makes use of the polarization and spatial information of the multipath and LOS signal, and can detect short-delay multipath. [Termes IGN] semis de pointsRésumé : (auteur) Object-based image analysis and machine learning classification procedures, after field calibration and photogrammetric processing of consumer-grade unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) digital camera data, were implemented to classify tree species in a conifer forest in the Great Lakes/St Lawrence Lowlands Ecoregion, Ontario, Canada. A red-green-blue (RGB) digital camera yielded approximately 72 percent classification accuracy for three commercial tree species and one conifer shrub. Accuracy improved approximately 15 percent, to 87 percent overall, with higher radiometric quality data acquired separately using a digital camera that included near infrared observations (at a lower spatial resolution). Interpretation of the point cloud, spectral, texture and object (tree crown) classification Variable Importance (VI) selected by a machine learning algorithm suggested a good correspondence with the traditional aerial photointerpretation cues used in the development of well-established large-scale photography northern conifer elimination keys, which use three-dimensional crown shape, spectral response (tone), texture derivatives to quantify branching characteristics, and crown size, development and outline features. These results suggest that commonly available consumer-grade UAV-based digital cameras can be used with object-based image analysis to obtain acceptable conifer species classification accuracy to support operational forest inventory applications. Mobilisant les nouvelles technologies de l’information et de la communication, les observatoires territoriaux sont aussi des dispositifs de coopération favorisant des processus d’apprentissage collectif. Leur mise en œuvre est difficile car il s’agit de construire simultanément une organisation, un projet et un système d’information dans un processus de validation mutuelle. CoObs, méthode de conception collaborative d’observatoires territoriaux, est basée sur l’élaboration de trois modèles : le modèle des dynamiques territoriales, le modèle de l’action et le modèle de l’observation. L’article introduit et présente cette méthode. À partir de l’analyse de deux expériences, aux Antilles et dans le Bassin de Thau, les auteurs démontrent que les observatoires territoriaux contribuent à la société de la connaissance en permettant aux savoirs citoyens d’éclairer les choix sociétaux et en réintroduisant le débat politique dans des processus de démocratie délibérative. Au-delà de la prise en compte des objectifs des acteurs, la mise en œuvre d’un observatoire territorial demande du temps (le processus se déroule sur plusieurs années), une animation technique de qualité, et un portage politique ou institutionnel garantissant des moyens. Un autre facteur de succès est l’efficience du dispositif technique, évalué par la qualité des réponses aux besoins et demandes des acteurs.
