[Termes IGN] urbanisationRésumé : (auteur) This study aims to detect recent landslide displacements caused by geological structure of the region where there is intense urbanization using advanced Interferometric Synthetic Aperture Radar (InSAR) techniques and with Global Navigation Satellite Systems (GNSS) observations in the Beylikdüzü and Esenyurt districts in Istanbul megacity, Turkey. In this study, multiple satellites with different frequencies (C-band, L-band) and periodic GNSS observations were employed. For the entire peninsula, we processed 149 images from the ascending orbit, 144 images from the descending orbit of Sentinel-1 (C-Band) and 24 ALOS-2 (L-band) images from the ascending orbit. The evaluations were carried out in the period between 2015 and 2020 for Sentinel-1 imagery and 2015–2020 for ALOS-2 imagery respectively. Since the study area is covered by dense settlements, the Persistent Scatterer InSAR (PSI) technique was utilized to determine the landslide behaviors. According to the results, for both orbits of the Sentinel-1, the horizontal displacement and the vertical displacement were observed in the range of − 10 to 6 mm. Compared to the magnitude of displacement signal measured by Sentinel-1, ALOS-2 data has higher values due to the high surface penetration of the L-band. The results showed that most of the old landslide regions are reactivated. Horizontal movement derived through Sentinel-1 showed that the highest movement overlaps with old landslides. L-band ALOS-2 provided better spatial coverage of landslide movement than C-band Sentinel-1 data, especially at the rural Numéro de notice : A2021-752 Affiliation des auteurs : non IGN Thématique : IMAGERIE/POSITIONNEMENT/URBANISME Nature : Article DOI : 10.1007/s11069-021-04875-7 Date de publication en ligne : 20/06/2021 En ligne : https://doi.org/10.1007/s11069-021-04875-7 Format de la ressource électronique : URL article Permalink : https://documentation.ensg.eu/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=98737

The two sources of rank deficiency in weight matrices are discussed: naturally occurring due to the inherent characteristics of LSA mathematical models and artificially induced to eliminate nuisance parameters from LSA estimation. The physical interpretation of the sources of rank deficiency is demonstrated using a case study to solve the problem of 3D line fitting, which is often encountered in geomatics but has not been addressed fully to date. Finally, some geomatics-related applications—mobile lidar system calibration, point cloud registration, and single-photo resection—are discussed along with respective experimental results, to emphasize the need to assess LSA models and their weight matrices to draw inferences regarding the effective contribution of observations. The discussion and results demonstrate the vast applications of this research in geomatics as well as other engineering domains. [Termes IGN] transformation intensité-teinte-saturationRésumé : (auteur) The traditional hill-shading map is usually produced from a digital elevation model (DEM) by using the method of hypsometric tinting, which is capable of demonstrating the changes in geomorphology by setting the colors for hill-shading. However, the disadvantage is obvious that the surface features of the terrain can only be utilized by putting vector data on the map. Hence, the terrain display effect will be altered, especially in the production of large-scale maps, for which the artistic effect will be greatly weakened. This paper proposes a solution to this problem. First, we transform the RGB color space of the Digital orthophotographic map (DOM) image into the intensity-hue-saturation (IHS) color space. Then, we calculate the new value of the intensity as I′ for each pixel of the shaded relief model (SRM) of the high-resolution remote sensing image. Finally, we replace the component I with the new component I′ and then proceed with the inverse IHS transform. The case study shows that an objective representation of the actual situation is presented in the mapping area, and the 3D performance capabilities are enhanced. This research indicates that when the method of fusing the processed SRM with the IHS color system is used, the optimum index factor (OIF) and entropy of the generated map are 41.26 and 12.05, respectively, which are much greater than for the results of the traditional method. In other words, the proposed method can greatly enhance the terrain effect. The GNSS station daily coordinate time series obtained in a double-difference (DD) mode were used. For representation of the sea level dynamics, the Latvian tide gauge records were used. Performed correlation analysis is based on yearly data sets of these observations for the period from 2012 up to 2020. The approach discloses how the non-tidal loading can induce variations in the time series of the regional GNSS station network. This paper increases understanding of the Earth’s surface displacements occurring due to the non-tidal loading effect in Latvia, and is intended to raise the importance and necessity of improved Latvian GNSS time series by removing loading effects. [Termes IGN] rizièreRésumé : (auteur) Paddy rice agriculture is practiced in both rain-fed and irrigated ecosystems in the Philippines. However, small farms are prevalent in the region, and current satellite-based mapping techniques do not distinguish between the two ecosystems at farm scales. This study developed an approach to rapidly map irrigated and rain-fed paddy rice in Iloilo, Philippines at 10 m resolutions using Google Earth Engine. This approach used an ensemble of classifiers based on time-series vegetation indices to produce dry and wet seasonal maps for the entire province. Results showed a predominance of rain-fed rice areas in both seasons, with irrigated rice making up only one-fourth of the total rice area. The overall accuracy was achieved at 68% for the dry season and 75% for the wet season based on ground-acquired points and very high-resolution imagery. The two types of paddies were classified at accuracies up to 87%. Furthermore, the land cover maps showed a strong agreement with the municipal statistics. The resultant maps complement current official statistics and demonstrate the prowess of phenology-based mapping to create paddy inventories in a timely manner to inform food security and agricultural policies.
