[Termes IGN] synchronisationRésumé : (Auteur) Accurate timing is one of the key features of the Global Positioning System (GPS), which is employed in many critical infrastructures. Any imprecise time measurement in GPS-based structures, such as smart power grids, economic activities, and communication towers, can lead to disastrous results. The vulnerability of the stationary GPS receivers to the time synchronization attacks (TSAs) jeopardizes the GPS timing precision and trust level. In the past few years, studies suggested the adoption of estimators to follow the authentic trend of the clock offset information under attack conditions. However, the estimators would lose track of the authentic signal without proper knowledge of the signal characteristics. Therefore, a multi-layer perceptron neural network (MLP NN) is proposed to follow the trend of the data. The main difference between the proposed method and typical estimators is the reliance of the network on the training information consisting of signal features. The proposed MLP NN performance has been evaluated through two real-world datasets and two well-known types of TSA. The root mean square error results exhibit an improvement of at least six times compared to other conventional and state-of-art methods. We match roads in the onboard images to the reference road vector map, and realize successful localization over areas as large as a whole city. The road network matching problem is treated as a point cloud registration problem under the homography transformation and solved under the hypothesize-and-test framework. To tackle the point cloud registration problem, a global projective-invariant feature is proposed, which consists of two road intersections augmented with their tangents. In addition, we propose the necessary conditions for the features to match. This can reduce the candidate matching features, thus accelerating the search to a great extent. These matching candidates are first “filtered” with the model consistency check in parameter space and then tested with similarity metrics to identify the correct transformation. The experiments show that our method can localize an aerial image over an area larger than 1000 km 2 within several seconds on a single CPU. Although dozens of methods have been proposed, current techniques suffer from two main shortcomings: the quality of the produced road networks is still far from those produced manually, and the methods are slow, making them not scalable to large inputs. In this paper, we present a fast four-step density-based approach to construct a road network from a set of trajectories. A key aspect of our method is the use of an improved version of the Slide method to adjust trajectories to build a more compact density surface. The network has comparable or better quality than that of state-of-the-art methods and is simpler (includes fewer nodes and edges). Furthermore, we also propose a split-and-merge strategy that allows splitting the data domain into smaller regions that can be processed independently, making the method scalable to large inputs. The performance of our method is evaluated with extensive experiments on urban and hiking data. [Termes IGN] thermomètreRésumé : (Auteur) The CG6 is an automated gravity meter that has a worldwide measurement range of over 8000 mGals and a reading resolution of 0.0001 mGal. Some factors that may influence the gravity readings are corrected by the instrument’s software. In this paper, the effects of the ambient temperature and humidity changes on the CG-6’s gravity measurements were investigated with the aim of reducing the uncertainty which remains in gravity measurements in microgal level, and giving recommendations for more accurate results. A controlled heating experiment was used to determine the impact of ambient temperature on gravity and 12 hours of continuous gravity observations were used to identify the impact of humidity on gravity measurements. It was observed that the sensor temperature and the gravity reading were highly correlated with the ambient temperature. The linear correlation with R2 > 0.94 and R2 > 0.90 were found for the corrected gravity reading and the residual sensor temperature variations respectively with the ambient temperature when heating. It was demonstrated that the calculated ambient temperature correction, −0.0011 mGal/oC, is more stable than the correction given by the instrument in terms of standard deviation though the impact of humidity on gravity reading was not clear. [Termes IGN] véhicule automobileRésumé : (auteur) In this paper, we represent (moving) point configurations along a curved directed line qualitatively by means of a system of relational symbols based on two distance descriptors: one representing distance along the curved directed line and the other representing signed orthogonal distance to the curved directed line. The curved directed line represents the direction of the movement of interest. For instance, it could be straight as in the case of driving along a highway or could be curved as in the case of an intersection or a roundabout. Inspired by the Point Calculus, the order between the points on the curved directed line is described by means of a small set of binary relations () acting upon the distance descriptors. We call this representation the Point-Descriptor-Precedence-Static (PDPS) representation at a time point and Point-Descriptor-Precedence-Dynamic (PDPD) representation during a time interval. To illustrate how the proposed approach can be used to represent and analyse curved movements, some basic micro-analysis traffic examples are studied. Finally, we discuss some extensions of our work to highlight the practical benefits of PDP in identifying motion patterns that could be useful in GIS, autonomous vehicles, sports analytics, and gait analysis.
