It is universal because:
1) it gives the possibility of elaborating arbitrarily long series of observations, with arbitrarily long time intervals between them, and arbitrarily length and frequency of interruptions between them ;
2) the possibility of elaboration of raw observations, for which the drift is determined as one of the results of analysis by the method presented, or by observations, from which the drift has been eliminated by an arbitrarily chosen method ;
3) the possibility of simultaneous determination of the proportionality coefficient between the drift and arbitrary exterior factors affecting the drift. The means of determining theoretical tides by utilizing the full development of the harmonic tidal potential by the CARTWRIGHT-TAYLOR method were discussed in detail.
An additional method of drift determination by means of .the so-called zero points, permitting to calculate the tidal parameters for long-period waves, also from comparatively short series of observations, was presented.
This method may be applied to the analysis of the vertical component and of horizontal components of arbitrary azimuths, and as a result one obtains the values of tidal parameters for 4 kinds of waves, i.e. long period, diurnal, semidiurnal and. 1/3 diurnal waves.
The article ends with a description of how to attend to two programs, indispensable for the numerical realization of analysis by the method presented on computers.
The above method, was used to realize analyses, of which the results were published in No's [7] - [11] of this paper.Numéro de notice : 30667 Affiliation des auteurs : non IGN Thématique : POSITIONNEMENT Nature : Monographie Permalink : https://documentation.ensg.eu/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=63668 Exemplaires(1)
