The application of special arials enabled the measurements of all radio-optical distances of a length of 35 km to 80 km which were planned in this trilateration net as well as the measurement of the diagonal transhorizon distances with 96 km and 103 km of length in case of a sufficient thickness of the evaporation duct. Special statements of corrections for velocity and path curvature in the maritime refractive index field are discussed. Supplementary meteorological observation stations were established in the shore and on sea to consider the homogeneity of the refractive index field. These observations , the general weather conditions , and quality signs provide conditions to classify the measured distance. The evaluated measurements with the Electrotape DM 20 suggest following facts: It is absolutely necessary to have supplementary values of refraction obtained in the neighborhood of the wave path in addition to the refractive values in the endpoint of the lines. Radio-optical distances reduced with such N-values ordinarily will show a smaller dispersion and an approximation to the nominal value. The most advantageous results for transhorizon distances will be obtained by means of a modified velocity correction based on the logarithmic height function of the refractive index in case of neutral layers of density, and a variable refractive index for path curvature corrections. A free adjustment with the evaluated distances and the observations of directions in the German - Danish First Order Triangulation Net shows corrections from 0.1 to 2.2 ppm for radio-optical distances and 0.9 to 1.3 ppm for transhorizon distances.
