Pamplona is a middle-size town which has experienced a remarkable growth since the 1950s. Every land use map corresponds to four significant dates, say 1956, 1969, 1984 and 1993. Eighteen land use categories were digitized at the scale of 1:10000. In this paper, we have selected four of these land use types to try to ascertain the spatio-temporal patterns of the recent evolution in this area, high rise residential, low rise residential facilities and industrial uses, such as educational, religious, government, sports and so forth. The 2D static land use maps were already presented somewhere else(*) Therefore, the purpose of this paper is to analyse the spatio-temporal categorical data through visualization and exploration.
