[Termes IGN] surveillance de la végétationRésumé : (auteur) Time series of optical and Synthetic Aperture RADAR (SAR) images provide complementary knowledge about the cover and use of the Earth surface since they exhibit information of distinct physical nature. They have proved to be particularly relevant for monitoring large areas with high temporal dynamics and related to significant ecosystem services. Grasslands are such crucial surfaces, both in terms of economic and environmental issues and the automatic and frequent monitoring of their agricultural practices is required for many purposes. To address this problem, the deep-based SenDVI framework is presented. SenDVI proposes an object-based methodology to estimate NDVI values from Sentinel-1 SAR observations and contextual knowledge (weather, terrain). Values are regressed every 6 days for compliance with monitoring purposes. Very satisfactory results are obtained with this low-level multimodal fusion strategy (R 2 =0.84 on a Sentinel-2 tile). Finer analysis is however required to fully assess the relevance of each modality (Sentinel-1, Sentinel-2, weather, terrain) and feature sets and to propose the simplest conceivable framework. Results show that not all features are necessary and can be discarded while others have a mandatory contribution to the regression task. Moreover, experiments prove that accuracy can be improved by not saturating the network with non-essential information (among contextual knowledge in particular). This allows to move towards more operational solution. [Termes IGN] robotRésumé : (auteur) In this article, we are interested in the implementation of an open-source low-level architecture (critical system) adapted to agile and easily replicable close-range remote sensing robots operating in multiple evolution domains. After reviewing the existing autopilots responding to these needs, we discuss the available hardware solutions and their limits. Then, we propose an original solution (software and hardware) that we developed to obtain a universal low-level architecture for all our exploration robots, whatever their environment of evolution, and the steps needed to make it run on our chosen family of micro-controllers: the ESP32. Finally, we present the operational results obtained on our different platforms (land, surface, submarine and air), their limits and the envisaged perspectives. [Termes IGN] ressources documentairesRésumé : (auteur) Through the ISPRS scientific initiative presented in this paper, we aim to make geospatial educational resources available and discoverable to those who teach and those who want to learn. In earlier work, we designed and implemented a prototype catalogue for geospatial educational resources, aimed at a target audience in higher education. The success of search and discovery in any catalogue relies heavily on the metadata that describes catalogue entries. Initial feedback showed that users find it difficult to use some of the metadata elements in the prototype to describe their teaching materials. In order to better understand their difficulties and further refine the metadata for describing educational resources that are used for geospatial purposes specifically, we asked a number of participants to describe geospatial educational resources according to four sets of metadata attributes. This paper presents the results of the study and recommends a set of metadata attributes that are specifically useful for geospatial educational resources. Implementation trade-offs are discussed, e.g., deciding between metadata attributes that are very specific or more generic, and catalogue entries that are immediately available to Web search engines without any quality checks vs. catalogue entries that are moderated by a community of educators before publishing them. By providing metadata about geospatial educational resources, the international geospatial community can contribute to the UN Sustainable Development Goal 4 to ensure inclusive and equitable quality education and to promote lifelong learning opportunities for all. The objective is to make a segmentation map of a large area (a french department) with the following classes: asphalt, bare soil, building, grassland, mineral material (permeable artificialized areas), forest and water from 20cm aerial images and Digital Height Model. We created a training dataset on a few areas of interest aggregating databases, semi-automatic classification, and manual annotation to get a complete ground truth in each class. A comparative study of different encoder-decoder architectures (U-Net, U-Net with Resnet encoders, Deeplab v3+) is presented with different loss functions. The final product is a highly valuable land cover map computed from model predictions stitched together, binarized, and refined before vectorization. [Vedettes matières IGN] GéovisualisationRésumé : (auteur) We present our contribution to the geovisualization and visual analysis of hydraulic simulation data, based on an interdisciplinary research work undertaken by researchers in geographic information sciences and in hydraulics. The positive feedback loop between researchers favored the proposal of visualization tools enabling visual reasoning on hydraulic simulated data so as to infer knowledge on the simulation model. We interactively explore and design 2D multi-scale styles to render hydraulic simulated data, in order to support the identification over large simulation domains of possible local inconsistencies related to input simulation data, simulation parameters or simulation workflow. Models have been implemented into QGIS and are reusable for other input data and territories.
