[Termes IGN] station de travail de photogrammétrie numériqueIndex. décimale : 33.30 Photogrammétrie numérique Résumé : (Auteur) This work deals with digital photogrammetric workstations (DPWS). It contains a complete overview of this important photogrammetric topic, something which does not exist to date. Besides documenting the state-of-the-art of DPWS, it describes the design of a universal DPWS for the acquisition and revision of topographic data. This design is geared towards practical applications. At the same time current trends in research and development of digital photogram-metry are emphasized. The potential of the universal DPWS is demonstrated for a number of tasks. The universal DPWS is also compared to the analytical plotter - today's standard instrument for photogrammetric data acquisition, to commercially available DPWS, and to representative research and development projects of the computer vision community.
The design of the universal DPWS is based on an analysis of the photogrammetric processing chain for digital imagery. It is also strongly influenced by scientific approaches for automated image analysis and by the results of intensive discussions with various DPWS companies. The universal DPWS design includes the following features:
- interactive processing with semi-automatic and automatic data collection modules,
- mono and stereo viewing,
- mono and stereo measurement with subpixel accuracy,
- multi image processing in all steps,
- standard hardware components wherever possible,
- modular software design.
The possibilities of automatic processing of photogrammetric imagery are demonstrated with three examples from the areas of image compression, automatic relative orientation, and automatic generation of a digital terrain model (DTM). Image compression has hardly been investigated within photogrammetry. However, due to the rapidly growing data volume its importance is steadily increasing. In this work the impact of lossy image compression onto the accuracy of subsequently generated photogrammetric products is quantitatively examined' for the first time. It is shown that for black and white images a compression rate of 5 can already lead to errors which are comparable in size to the measurement accuracy. For automatic relative orientation a new algorithm is presented which is based on hierarchical feature matching. The results of various tests confirm that the algorithm has reached an operational stage in terms of being able to handle a large variety of images, and in terms of accuracy, robustness, and computational speed. The automatic DTM generation is based on global image matching in object space and constitutes the first controlled test of this rather general approach using real imagery.
A comparison between the analytical plotter and the DPWS reveals clear advantages on the side of the DPWS despite some technological drawbacks. These advantages ensure that the DPWS will become the major photogrammetric data acquisition system in the near future. While reviewing the capabilities of currently available commercial DPWS it is shown that they operate on the cutting edge of today's technology. Most of them were developed with concepts of analytical photogrammetry in mind, and thus do not take full advantage of the additional possibilities provided by the digital imagery. This is especially true for multi image processing and semi-automatic data collection. Therefore, the commercial systems have to be considered as prototypes of the universal DPWS. Two American projects, RADIUS (Research and development for image understanding systems) and IUE (image understanding environment), and their connection to DPWS are discussed next. An evaluation of the universal DPWS for practical applications concludes the work.Numéro de notice : 28039 Affiliation des auteurs : non IGN Thématique : IMAGERIE Nature : Thèse étrangère Permalink : https://documentation.ensg.eu/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=63386 Réservation

[Termes IGN] toitRésumé : (Auteur) After a brief introduction into the modelling of surfaces of equilibrium of forces - using techniques like the method of force densities or the dynamic relaxation method - and an introduction into different types of cutting pattern determination for structural membranes, a strategy for the generation of planar cutting patterns for prestressed membrane structures is described.
As starting information a given surface with nodal force equilibrium - as for example generated by the force density method - is used by the approach. The strategy has three main steps: geodesic line specification as seamlines on the surface, flattening of the individual strips defined by the seamlines and the surface boundary and borderlength adjustment of these strips compensating distortions due to the double curvature of the surface under cutting pattern determination. For all the steps solutions using least squares adjustment algorithms are presented.
to addition, the modelling of welding all strips together resulting in a complete membrane roof is presented. A afferent model is therefore introduced to handle the physical properties of the membrane more precisely 'han calculating the membrane roof as a cable network with individual stiffnesses of the cable elements assigned. The basic elements of this new model are small crossed bar elements. In this new model shear can be taken into account thus the cloth of each strip can be modelled more exactly.Numéro de notice : 28050 Affiliation des auteurs : non IGN Thématique : MATHEMATIQUE Nature : Thèse étrangère Permalink : https://documentation.ensg.eu/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=63397 Réservation

Small changes in the refractive index caused by turbulent motions in the atmosphere are primarily related to small temperature variations. These cause random phase distortions of the optical wave as well as intensity fluctuations (scintillations), from which parameters describing the turbulence, e.g. the structure constant and the inner scale length, can be derived. Using the dissipation technique a relationship between these quantities and the vertical refraction index gradient has been formulated.
The major topic is the development of a measuring system based on a surveying instrument, which is capable of providing fluctuation quantities simultaneously with the "geodetic" observation itself. With regard to the distance measurement the high-precision distancemeter Kern Mekometer ME 5000 (LEICA, Heerbrugg, Switzerland) was chosen and modified in a way that distance-(phase-) and intensity-fluctuations can be acquired simultaneously with a sufficient high data rate by analyzing the received light intensity signal (= photodetector output). The necessary transformation equations are developed by analyzing both the optical ray path and the electrical signal path in the instrument. Resolution and absolute accuracy of the instrument are improved by a special calibration routine and an optimization process. Distance variations can be measured with an accuracy of 20 jam and the resolution of intensity fluctuations is 0.6 percent.
The extended semi-empirical modelling of refraction effects based on fluctuation data will be improved and controlled by additional information, e.g. the vertical gradient of the refraction index, wind speed and (local) structure constants. Therefore the measuring system is expanded by some other compo--nents: A scintillometer provides the integral vertical refraction index gradient and a modified sonic anemometer/thermometer provides the wind velocity as well as the local structure constant of the temperature. Selected and calibrated analog temperature sensors are incorporated to measure local temperature gradients. Most of these instruments are connected with a common data acquisition unit, which is developed with respect to the requirements of different correlation processes. The combination of all these modules represents a system for determining turbulence effects on distance and angle measurements and should be suited for improving refraction models.Numéro de notice : 28051 Affiliation des auteurs : non IGN Thématique : POSITIONNEMENT Nature : Thèse étrangère Permalink : https://documentation.ensg.eu/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=63398 Réservation
